'DEAL OR NO DEAL' IS TICKLED PINK TO JOIN THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND ITS 'WARRIORS IN PINK' CAMPAIGN TO RAISE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19
Sharon Osbourne, Elizabeth Edwards and Alec Baldwin make a special guest appearance.
Burbank, Calif., October 4, 2007 -- "Deal or No Deal" says "no deal" to breast cancer when the hit NBC show teams up with the Ford Motor Company and its "Warriors in Pink" campaign to fight breast cancer and to raise awareness. In the Friday, October 19 special "pink" episode (8-9pm ET), host Howie Mandel shows his support by wearing pink socks and brings the models on stage in stunning pink dresses, complete with pink briefcases. The "Play At Home Lucky Case Game" also goes "pink" as viewers at home will have a chance to win $10,000 and a limited edition "Warriors in Pink" Ford Mustang.
When breast cancer survivor Sharon Osbourne (NBC's "America's Got Talent") pays Indianapolis, Indiana contestant and breast cancer survivor Ashlee Mundy an unexpected visit, she not only offers her words of support, she also joins her family on the supporter bench. Additionally, as Mundy plays for the top prize of $1 million, she receives extra support via satellite from Elizabeth Edwards, the best-selling author and wife of Senator John Edwards who has battled breast cancer herself, and from Alec Baldwin ("30 Rock"), whose mother has a foundation in her name, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund out of Stony Brook, New York.
Hosted by Howie Mandel, "Deal or No Deal" is an international hit game show from Endemol USA. Contestants on the show play for a top prize of $1 million in a high-energy match of nerves, instincts and raw intuition. In this game of odds and chance, a contestant faces 26 sealed briefcases containing anything from a measly penny to $1 million and picks one, without knowing the amount the briefcases. After each round, "the Banker" will make the contestant an offer in exchange for what might be in the contestant's briefcase -- prompting Mandel to ask the all-important question -- "Deal or No Deal"?
Based on the successful format from Endemol that has aired in over 40 countries, "Deal or No Deal" is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA. The series is executive-produced by Scott St. John.
