Dayna Devon, Raven Symone, Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kenda Wilkinson (Stars of "The Girls Next Door"), Among Other Celebrities Preparing to Be Mystified
BURBANK, Calif. - October 23, 2007 NBC announced today that Carmen Electra ("I Want Candy"), Rachel Hunter ("Dead Write") and Ross Mathews (Ross the Intern from NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno") will star in the exhilarating and mystifying live search for the next great mentalist when NBC's new alternative series "Phenomenon" premieres, Wednesday, October 24 (8-9 p.m. ET) .
Additional celebrities preparing to be mystified in episodes following the premiere include Dayna Devon ("Extra"), Raven Symone ("That's So Raven"), and "The Girls Next Door" stars Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kenda Wilkinson, among others.
Three new celebrity guests will be featured in each of the series' five consecutive episodes. The celebrities will interact with the competing mentalists and experience the spellbinding illusions first-hand, along with the studio audience. They will provide an untainted reaction to the mentalists' performances, a stark contrast to the expert opinions offered by the show's resident experts, Criss Angel ("Criss Angel Mindfreak") and famed mentalist Uri Geller.
Ultimately, the fate of the competing mentalists is in the hands of the viewers at home, who will vote to determine which competing mentalist will receive the grand prize of $250,000 and become the next great mentalist.
An intense search for the next great mentalist, "Phenomenon" is based on a successful Israeli version judged and monitored by Geller, which achieved a historical record-breaking viewing audience.
"Phenomenon" is hosted by Tim Vincent ("Access Hollywood") and executive-produced by Suzy Lamb ("Grease: You're The One That I Want"), Michael Agbabian ("Last Comic Standing") and Dwight D. Smith ("Last Comic Standing"). The series is a Granada America/Keshet Broadcasting/Kuperman Productions co-production in association with SevenOne International. SevenOne International controls the worldwide rights to the program.
