NBC Kicks Off the Season from Thanksgiving to the New Year with Original Holiday-Themed Shows, Traditional Specials and Classic Movie Favorites

NBC KICKS OFF THE SEASON FROM THANKSGIVING TO THE NEW YEAR WITH ORIGINAL HOLIDAY-THEMED SHOWS, TRADITIONAL SPECIALS AND CLASSIC MOVIE FAVORITES

Original Series Include Holiday-Themed Episodes of "Chuck," "30 Rock," "My Name Is Earl," "Journeyman," "Deal or No Deal," "Las Vegas," "Clash of the Choirs" and "Days of our Lives," Along with Annual Holiday Programming Events That Include "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade," "Christmas in Rockefeller Center," "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Miracle on 34th Street"

BURBANK - November 15, 2007 - NBC unwraps its holiday programming with themed episodes of "Chuck," "My Name Is Earl," "Journeyman," the 300th episode of "ER," "30 Rock," "Deal or No Deal," "Las Vegas," "Clash of the Choirs" and "Days of our Lives," along with the traditional favorites "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade," "Christmas in Rockefeller Center," "It's a Wonderful Life," and "Miracle on 34th Street" -- as well as the special "Radio City Christmas Spectacular," and recent feature films "The Incredibles" and "The Family Man."

The holiday season begins on November 21 with a special two-hour Thanksgiving-themed "Deal or No Deal," followed by the annual broadcast of the "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" on November 22, and continues through NBC's traditional coverage of "The Tournament of Roses Parade" on January 1.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 21

DEAL OR NO DEAL (9-11 p.m.)

SPECIAL TWO-HOUR THANKSGIVING EXTRAVAGANZA AS ONE CONTESTANT PLAYS FOR A $2 MILLION TOP PRIZE AND ANOTHER TRIES TO AVOID THE "TURKEY" CASE; VIEWERS AT HOME HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN $100,000 -- Celebrate Thanksgiving with a special two-hour episode with DaKenya McDuffy of Indianapolis, Indiana, who will play for the top prize of $1 million as she tries to avoid the "turkeys" as the five lowest cases have been replaced with gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, pumpkin pie and a turkey! Also tonight, Jay Garrity of Medford, Massachusetts turns down record-breaking offers when he plays for the top prize of $2 million in a high-energy match of nerves, instincts and raw intuition. MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE CELEBRATES ITS 81ST ANNIVERSARY ON NBC WITH 'TODAY' HOSTS MEREDITH VIEIRA, MATT LAUER AND AL ROKER - America's favorite Thanksgiving Day parade features all the spectacular pageantry, fun and surprises that have made this annual New York City extravaganza a perennial favorite. Heralding the start of the Christmas season, this beloved holiday features colorful grand floats, lively marching bands, amazing character balloons and special performances by some of today's hottest stars and Broadway performers. This year's special guests include Ashley Tisdale, Bindi and Terri Irwin, Corbin Bleu, Dolly Parton, Good Charlotte, Grandma from the Big Apple Circus, Jonas Brothers, Jordin Sparks, Kay Hanley, Lifehouse, Menudo, Michael Feinstein, Miss U.S.A. 2007 - Rachel Smith, Ne-Yo, Nikki Blonsky, Sarah Brightman, and Wynonna Judd -- plus an appearance by Santa Claus. NATIONAL PURINA DOG SHOW (12-2 p.m.)

CELEBRATE THE "BEST IN SHOW" WITH "THE NATIONAL DOG SHOW PRESENTED BY PURINA" --- John O' Hurley returns as host of "The National Dog Show Presented By Purina," a purebred canine competition that is part of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia's annual dog show. The show -- one of the oldest and most prestigious sporting events in North America -- is one of only six remaining "benched" dog shows where the public can interact with the show dogs. With expert commentary from David Frei, "the dean" of dog show commentators, the show is expected to feature more than 2,000 of the nation's leading canines in a wide array of more than 150 breeds and varieties, all vying for "Best in Show" honors. "The National Dog Show Presented by Purina" is a property of NBC and Carson International of Ketchum, Idaho.

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (2-4 p.m.)

NBC PRESENTS ORIGINAL HOLIDAY 'MIRACLE' -- NBC continues its tradition of bringing home the holiday classics with this Academy Award-winning feature. Kris Kringle (Edmund Gwenn)--the real Santa Claus--is hired to play himself at Macy's Department Store in New York City. His gentle, joyous spirit and magical powers soon transform those around him including a little girl (Natalie Wood) and her cynical mother Doris Walker (Maureen O'Hara). However, Kris' attempts to spread the true meaning of Christmas in a cynical world land him in the psychology ward with only lawyer (John Payne) on his side.

NBC MOVIE OF THE WEEK: "THE INCREDIBLES" (8-10:30 p.m. ET)

Hosted by Al Roker ("Today"), the star-studded 75th annual tree lighting extravaganza will feature Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Taylor Swift, Ashley Tisdale and Carrie Underwood performing current hits and holiday classics from Rockefeller Center in New York City. Prior to the network special, WNBC NBC's New York flagship station, will broadcast an additional live hour of the special (7-8 p.m. ET). THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR (8-9 p.m.)

THIS DECEMBER NBC BRINGS MORE HOLIDAY CHEER INTO VIEWERS HOMES WITH 'THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR' SPECIAL- For the first time ever, NBC will televise the 75th celebration of the "Radio City Christmas Spectacular" in a one-hour exclusive special from the great stages at Radio City Music Hall. Hosted by Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira ("Today"), the show will feature brand new glamorous costumes, state-of-the-art special effects and new eye-popping numbers performed by the world-famous Radio City Rockettes, as well as traditional favorites including the famed "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers." This year's brand new and re-imagined production will be executive produced by legendary and veteran news producer Don Hewitt.

A COUNTERFEIT CHRISTMAS--Still licking his wounds after realizing Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) continues to have feelings for Bryce, Chuck (Zachary Levi) must assume the cover of being Sarah's husband on a mission to foil a politically connected counterfeiter and yachtsman. Emotions and sea legs are tested when Chuck, Sarah and Casey (Adam Baldwin) have to head to the marina to scuttle a plot that also puts an unwitting Morgan (Joshua Gomez) and Anna (Julia Ling) squarely in the crosshairs. Meanwhile, It's time for the annual Buy More holiday party, but the party comes with lots of rules from Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence).

ER (10-11 p.m.)
"300 Patients"

PATIENT OVERFLOW IN THE ER- SPECIAL 300th EPISODE-PETER FONDA ("3:10 to Yuma") AND REIKO AYLESWORTH ("24") GUEST STAR-Morris (Scott Grimes) makes a bet with the other doctors that the ER will have 300 patients pass through its doors before the nights end. Kovac (Goran Visnjic), Abby (Maura Tierney) and baby Joe quickly make plans to go to Croatia after Luka's father unexpectedly passes away. A husband (guest star Peter Fonda) rushes to the ER when he hears about his wife's car accident but is shocked to meet someone from his past. Meanwhile, Julia (guest star Reiko Aylesworth) decides to hold a service to bless the ER and the patients that have been lost. 'TIS THE SEASON-The casino staffers are busy making holiday plans except for Mike (James Lesure), who begins to doubt his place in Vegas as well as in his friend's lives. A modern day Scrooge, Sam (Vanessa Marcil) invites a client to come to the casino for the holidays, but he decides to donate his money to a charity instead of gambling at the casino. Meanwhile, Delinda (Molly Sims) and Piper (Camille Guaty) host a "Hot Santa" contest to win the Vegas casino charity competition and Danny (Josh Duhamel) is pressured by Cooper (Tom Selleck) to fill a vacant retail space at the Montecito.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 10

JOURNEYMAN (10-11 p.m.)
"Home by Another Way"

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS-JOHN ANISTON ("Days of Our Lives") GUEST STARS--Layoffs hit Dan's (Kevin McKidd) office on Christmas eve and he is forced to travel back in time to the newspaper's holiday party. Dan interferes with his past when he meets up with his father and tries to convince him to spend more time with the family. At home, Katie (Gretchen Egolf) trys to enjoy the holidays but struggles to get her traumatizing experience out of her head. While Dan is traveling he discovers a new secret about Livia (Moon Bloodgood). Meanwhile, Jack (Reed Diamond) and Theresa get some unexpected news. Brian Howe and Charles Henry Wyson also star.

Earl's path to trouble starts when he sees that Ralph (Giovani Ribisi) is living a lavish life after conning an elderly woman. Randy (Ethan Suplee) cannot handle Earl abandoning his belief in karma, so he turns to Joy (Jaime Pressly) and Earl's old friends to partake in an intervention on Christmas morning. Since holidays mean special family time, Liz's (Tina Fey) parents, Dick (Guest star Buck Henry) and Margaret (Guest star Anita Gillette) Lemon, and her 40-year-old brother Mitch (Guest star Andy Richter), who suffers from memory loss due to a skiing accident and thinks he is 17-year-old high school senior, come to gloat over their "beautiful genius" daughter. The Lemons and the Donaghys go to dinner together, where Colleen spends the night trying to break the eternal optimism of the Lemon family. Through a process of Descriptive TheatreVision, the special presentation will be described for the blind and visually impaired by former President George Bush. Bush's description will inform the viewer of what is occurring on the screen, filling the blanks where no dialogue or other sounds tell a visually impaired person what is happening during a television presentation. The film follows the life of George Bailey (Stewart) from childhood to maturity in the town of Bedford Falls. On what might be his last Christmas Eve, a discouraged Bailey wants to throw his life away. Fortunately, Clarence (Henry Travers), a second-class angel, is sent to show him the value of life. After Clarence gives Bailey a view of Bedford Falls without him, Bailey realizes how precious his life is and gets a second chance. He comes to learn that Clarence was right when he said, "No man is a failure who has friends." The film, which earned Oscar nominations for best picture, director, actor and film editing, was produced and directed by Capra.

CHRISTMAS TIME IN SALEM - This year's Christmas in Salem is filled with family drama as usual. Sami (Alison Sweeney) wants to have Christmas with Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and the twins but Lucas says he wants to be with their other son Will, who's in Switzerland. Belle (Martha Madison) tries to hide her awkwardness around Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) on Christmas since she knows they are aware that she, Belle, cheated on their son, Shawn (Brandon Beemer). Meanwhile, Bo and Hope celebrate their Christmas Eve Wedding Anniversary and at the Salem Hospital Max (Darin Brooks) dresses up as Santa and Nick (Blake Berris) dresses up as an elf for a reading with the children. CARSON DALY RINGS IN 2008 -- Carson Daly will be on the east coast this holiday season when he and "Last Call" executive producer David Friedman produce "NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" live from Times Square in New York City. Expanding on the success of last year's music-filled event, this year's celebration will begin at 11:35 pm (EST) and ring in 2008 with performances by Grammy winning artist Lenny Kravitz, among others.

119TH TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)

NBC's live, high-definition coverage of the "119th Tournament of Roses Parade" from Pasadena, California will feature celebrated chef Emeril Lagasse as the Grand Marshal for this year's parade. With a 2008 theme of "Passport to the World's Celebrations," the parade will feature all the lavish floral floats, spectacular marching bands and high-stepping equestrian teams that have made the New Year's Day event so popular. This year's Rose Queen and her court will also appear, along with special guests on spectacular floats, all paying tribute to festivities from around the globe. NBC has been broadcasting the New Year's Day parade for 81 years, beginning on radio in 1927 and then televising the event beginning in 1954. Arthur Forrest is the executive producer/director, Carol Kahl is the supervising producer and Stephanie Prescott is the coordinating producer for NBC Entertainment. Tom Patino is the line producer.
