New York, NY - November 20, 2007 - WE tv announced today Party Mamas, a new original series that takes an inside look at the perfectionist, over demanding nature of moms as they plan elaborate extravaganzas for their children. Each of the 13 half-hour episodes feature different scenarios of mothers who become obsessed with planning outrageous parties for their children, resulting in loads of drama and disagreements. Party Mamas is produced by Barna-Alper and distributed by Alliance Atlantis and premieres Wednesday, December 12th at 10pm EST.
"Party Mamas is an exciting new series showcasing mothers who spare no expense when throwing the perfect party for their kids. We look forward to sharing this series, with our audience, as part of our ever-growing slate of relevant, fun and engaging programming, appealing to women," said Kim Martin, EVP and GM of WE TV. Episodes feature Cindy, a mother of three from Long Island, who spends $30,000 on her nine-year-old son's baseball-themed party that includes an appearance from NY Yankee's World Series winner, Jim Leyritz and a performance by singer, Lucas Prata. Other antics from Party Mamas includes: Kerrie who spends over $65,000 for her daughter's fourteenth birthday; Lisa who plans a bombastic Bar Mitzvah for her son complete with her own dance number; Suzanne who plans a pirate-themed party, on a ship, for her three-year-old son with real sword fighting and Emily who plans a skateboard party for her eleven-year-old son's birthday with celebrity appearances by four pro-riders.
