LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Bravo and Comedy Central have thrown their original hats into the January programming ring.
The latter will offer up the fifth season of "Reno 911" beginning Wednesday, January 16 at 10:30/9:30c. Here's how the network describes the new season: "The Washoe County Sheriff's Department is tuning up its cruisers for a fifth season of "RENO 911!." Last season kicked off with Weigel's mysterious insemination and ended with Dangle's disastrous gay commitment ceremony. In between, they kept the city of Reno on the straight and narrow by rigging a local election, going undercover as illegal immigrants and taming horses for mounted patrol. What will happen this season? Will Garcia embrace his newfound sexual orientation? Will Dangle and Weigel be the proud parents of a baby? Tune in Wednesday nights at 10:30 p.m. to find out."
Also on tap is the 12th season of "Comedy Central Presents" starting Friday, January 11 at 10:00/9:00c. Said effort is detailed as follows: "COMEDY CENTRAL has another line-up of America's top stand-up comedians ready to roll in an all-new season of "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents." This COMEDY CENTRAL original series features the best comics in America taking the stage for their own half-hour special in front of a live audience at New York's Hudson Theater. Tune in every Friday night at 10:00 p.m. for two new back-to-back episodes, featuring stand-up comics like Rich Vos, Stephen Lynch and Bonnie McFarlane."
Meanwhile over on Bravo, newcomers "Make Me a Supermodel" and "Millionaire Matchmaker" will join mainstays "The Real Housewives of Orange County" and "Project Runway."
"Supermodel" will kick off on Wednesday, January 2 at 11:00/10:00c with a casting special before settling into its regular Thursday, 10:00/9:00c home the following week (January 10).
As for "Matchmaker," the series will launch on Tuesday, January 22 at 11:00/10:00c following the season finale of "Housewives." "Matchmaker" will then assume "Housewives's" regular 10:00/9:00c slot on January 29.
And finally, look for the one-hour special "The 20 Most Outrageous Bravo Moments" on Wednesday, January 30 at 10:00/9:00c (pre-empting "Runway" for that week) as well as the half-hour "Last Comic Standing: Jon Reep" special on Friday, January 4 at 8:00/7:00c.
