INSIDE EDITION MARKS 20TH SEASON WITH WEEK-LONG CELEBRATION
New York, NY - December 28, 2007 - Inside Edition, the number one syndicated newsmagazine, will begin its 20th season on January 9, 2008. The show will mark its milestone anniversary with a week long celebration highlighting its past two decades on the air during the week of January 7th - January 11th.
Deborah Norville, who has reigned as host of Inside Edition for nearly 13 years, is hardly surprised by the show's staying power.
"In television, as in nature, if one doesn't evolve, one dies. Inside Edition has been constantly evolving and reinventing itself, always staying true to its mandate of providing real stories about real people, but making sure to be one step ahead of the competition in covering the news and news personalities of the day," Norville says.
Norville says she is most proud of Inside Edition's investigative pieces saying, "I think it really is the singular thing that sets us apart from every other TV show out there."
The following is a schedule of the segments to be aired during the week of January 7th:
Monday, January 7th:
*20 Seasons of Newsmakers: Includes Inside Edition interviews with everyone from O.J. Simpson to Jeffrey Dahmer. This piece will also take a look back at pop culture over the past two decades.
Tuesday, January 8th:
*Most Memorable Moments: This piece will feature the most heartbreaking and memorable moments Inside Edition has shared with viewers over the past 20 seasons including the rescue of baby Jessica.
Wednesday, January 9th:
*Hard News Coverage: Details Inside Edition's coverage of hard news events over the past 20 seasons including everything from the devastating Oklahoma City bombing to natural disaster Hurricane Katrina.
Thursday, January 10th:
*Inside Edition Investigations: Inside Edition takes a look back at 20 seasons of investigations, from claims by Hurricane Katrina victims that they were ripped off by unscrupulous contractors to claims by consumers that they were conned by door-to-door salesmen. This piece will also highlight investigative pieces that have led to groundbreaking changes including Investigative Correspondent Matt Meagher testifying before Congress about his investigation into the Mexican prescription pill pipeline.
Friday, January 11th:
*Behind the Scenes with Inside Edition: Takes viewers behind the scenes of Inside Edition. This piece will also include 20 seasons of bloopers.

Executive Producer Charles Lachman credits the success of the show to its melting pot of segments and loyal viewers.

Inside Edition has also re-launched its website to coincide with the 20th anniversary and will launch January 7th.
Inside Edition highlights of the past two decades:
*January 9, 1989: Inside Edition premieres with host David Frost.
*January 27, 1989: Bill O'Reilly takes over as host.
*March 1, 1995: Bill O'Reilly's last show.
*March 6, 1995: Deborah Norville takes over as host. Ratings jump 15% the first week Norville is on the show.
*July 7, 1995: Star Jones serves as chief legal analyst and leads the coverage of the O.J.
Simpson murder trial. She will be the only reporter to interview Simpson during his civil trial.
*1995: Inside Edition receives the National Press Club Award for their report on "Chrysler Minivan Latch Dangers."
*1996: Inside Edition receives a George Polk Award, IRE Award, Sigma Delta Chi Award and National Headliner Award for their investigative report on "Door to Door Insurance."
*September 16, 1997: Deborah Norville appears on air from maternity ward with newborn daughter Mikaela Katarina.
*February 14, 2000: - "Life in Cellblock A" airs. Deborah Norville spends one week in what is reputed to be "the toughest jail in America."
*2007: Inside Edition receives Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Consumer Agency Administrators.
