REELZCHANNEL TV NETWORK ACQUIRES CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED ANIMATED COMEDY SERIES "THE CRITIC"

Special 8-Hour Marathon Preview March 16; Series Debuts March 17

Los Angeles, CA (March 12) ReelzChannel, the only cable/satellite television network dedicated to "Everything About Movies, 24/7," has acquired the critically-acclaimed animated comedy series "The Critic," starring the voice of actor/comedian Jon Lovitz.

The half-hour series about a down-on-his-luck movie critic (Lovitz) who gets no respect at home or at his work will join the ReelzChannel programming lineup with a special eight-hour marathon preview Sunday, March 16 beginning at 2:00 PM ET/11:00 AM PT. The series premieres in its regular weekly time period Monday, March 17 at 6:30 PM ET/3:30 PM PT (with encore presentations at 8:30 PM ET/5:30 PM PT and 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT).

The acquisition comes as ReelzChannel, available nationally via satellite carriage on DirecTV and DISH Network and on cable systems in major U.S. markets, continues its rapid cable television roll-out in markets across the country, including its launch this week throughout metropolitan New York City on Time Warner Cable.

"The Critic" is the brainchild of Al Jean and Mike Reiss, producers of "The Simpsons." The series follows Jay Sherman (voiced by Lovitz) as he balances his personal life with his work life on the movie review show, "Coming Attractions." Jay seems to always be caught in a moral dilemma he feels he's above the movies he reviews, but he loves movies more than anything on earth! Each episode features dead-on parodies of iconic movies -- from The Godfather to Silence of the Lambs. It's animation at its' finest and funniest.

"The Critic" joins ReelzChannel's roster of movie-focused, mostly original programming which includes "Dailies," hosted by Mike Richards; "Secret's Out," hosted by renowned movie expert Leonard Maltin; "The Big Tease"; the first-ever, video blogger-generated television series, "Movie Mob"; and "Movie Up." The network program lineup also includes the popular "At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper" and "The Directors."

In addition to the network television channel, ReelzChannel's multi-platform services include its popular website, www.ReelzChannel.com, where visitors can stay connected to the most current movie news, participate in online contests and surveys, voice their opinions and get information on all the current movie releases in all windows of distribution. Detailed information on ReelzChannel and its programming can be found at www.ReelzChannel.com

ReelzChannel is a multi-media brand with the only cable/satellite TV network and broadband website dedicated to "Everything About Movies, 24/7." Both the television network and the broadband website premiered in September 2006. After the most successful launch in cable/satellite history, ReelzChannel TV has continued its steady distribution growth, currently reaching more than 35 million subscribers. In addition to its cable carriage in markets across the country, ReelzChannel is carried on DIRECTV (Channel 238) and DISH Network (Channel 299). The network features original movie industry news and entertainment programming focusing on the content and behind-the-scenes production of movies in all windows of release in theaters, on DVD, VOD, and premium television platforms on broadcast and cable television each week.
