THE CW, WARNER BROS. TELEVISION GROUP AND STRIDE GUM OFFER FANS THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE THEIR OWN "SMALLVILLE" DIGITAL COMIC BOOK
Fans Have Direct Impact on the Direction and Outcome of a New "Smallville" Story
Burbank, California (March 12, 2008) - The CW Network, Warner Bros. Television Group and Stride Gum are teaming up to offer fans the unique opportunity to create their own "Smallville" adventure in the form of a new digital comic book based on the hit TV series (airing Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW).
The writers and producers of "Smallville" have developed the beginning and the end of an all-new comic book adventure and will leave it to fans to determine the direction of all of the action in between.
This innovative online promotion kicks off on Thursday, March 13, in conjunction with that night's episode of "Smallville." Both the episode and the comic book storyline revolve around the return of Pete Ross (played in the series by original "Smallville" cast member Sam Jones III), who has garnered incredible "elastic" super powers after chewing special, kryptonite-infused Stride Gum.
Fans can go to cwtv.com and read the opening pages of this new comic book adventure. They'll then be presented with two options (four pages each) which take the comic book in two different directions, and they can vote on the direction in which they want the story to go. Every following Tuesday and Thursday on cwtv.com, viewers can find two new sets of comic book pages and vote on which way they want the story to progress. The promotion runs through April 7, and each scene developed will become part of a digital comic book produced by DC Comics.
Each vote enters fans into a national sweepstakes for the opportunity to win the Grand Prize of a VIP weekend at a national comic book convention plus a year's supply of Stride gum. Additionally, 50 fans will each win the complete season six DVD set of "Smallville," plus 12 packs of Stride gum.
