BRAVO WINS A NAMIC VISION AWARD FOR "THE WORD ACCORDING TO WHOOPI"
NEW YORK, NY � April 17, 2008 � Adding another accolade to its award-winning year, Bravo was honored with a NAMIC Award for "The Word According to Whoopi," in the category of Best Performance � Comedy, at the 14th Annual NAMIC Vision Awards luncheon held on April 16 in Beverly Hills, CA. The National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications' Vision Awards honors cable television's commitment to quality, original programming that reflects the world's rich, multi-ethnic populace. The Bravo special, in which Academy-Award winner Whoopi Goldberg ponders the meaning and power of words that we use to define ourselves, marks Bravo's second NAMIC Vision Award win. Bravo won it's first NAMIC Award for "Blue Note: a Story of Modern Jazz" in 1998.
Of the over 200 programs submitted for nominations, Bravo also garnered a nomination for the "Museum of Moving Images Salutes Will Smith" in the Best Performance � Original Movie or Special category.
