Lifetime Television Sizzles in April With Double-Digit Gains Among W18-49 and W25-54, Powered by 'The Memory Keeper's Daughter,' Network's Most-Watched Original Movie in Thirteen Years
Led by 60 Percent Surge in Prime, Lifetime Movie Network Registers Longest
Streak in History With Eighth Straight Month of Ratings Growth
NEW YORK, April 29 -- Continuing their year-long momentum,
Lifetime Television and Lifetime Movie Network rode the performance of
record-setting original movies to robust double-digit ratings gains in
April.
For the second consecutive month, Lifetime soared 14 percent in prime
among W18-49 ratings, while also rising 13 percent in W25-54 ratings and
nine percent in household ratings. These increases were fueled by the "The
Memory Keeper's Daughter," the network's most-watched original movie in 13
years. During its Saturday, April 12, premiere, "The Memory Keeper's
Daughter" averaged 5.8 million viewers and 4.5 million women, ranking as
the week's #1 basic cable program.
The Lifetime Original Movie starred Dermot Mulroney, Emily Watson and
Gretchen Mol in an adaptation of Kim Edwards' novel -- which zoomed up to
#1 on The New York Times trade paperback best-seller list after the movie
aired on Lifetime.
Jodi Picoult's powerful best-selling novel, "The Tenth Circle," will be
the next Lifetime Original Movie adaptation. Starring Kelly Preston and Ron
Eldard, the movie will premiere Saturday, June 28, at 9PM (ET/PT).
In April, Lifetime Movie Network's prime households leaped 60 percent
and total day jumped 25 percent, marking the eighth straight month of
ratings increases, its longest streak ever. The network also rose 33
percent in prime among W18-49 and 25 percent among W25-54.
Lifetime Movie Network's ratings were powered by the second part of its
first-ever original miniseries "The Capture of the Green River Killer," the
most-watched program in the channel's 10-year history, which averaged a 2.8
household rating and 2.4 million total viewers during its telecast on
Monday, March 31 (included in the April ratings month).
Part One of "The Capture of the Green River Killer" aired on Sunday,
March 30, and posted a 2.5 household rating, and was factored in the March
monthly ratings.
