NEW YORK, May 1, 2008 -- Continuing a longstanding tradition that dates back to 2000, Jon Stewart and "The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!" will be back on the political trail for the 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions with the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" broadcasting a week of shows in both Denver, CO and Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN as part of its ongoing "Indecision 2008" coverage of the race for the White House.

"The Daily Show's" coverage of the Democratic National Convention will be taped at The Byron Theatre in the Newman Center for the Performing Arts at The University of Denver and will air nightly at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT from Tuesday, August 26 through Friday, August 29. The show will then head straight to the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul and will tape the show at The History Theatre at McNally Smith College of Music with nightly shows at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT from Tuesday, September 2 through Friday, September 5. Tickets for the tapings may be requested at the show's Web site, www.thedailyshow.com.

This marks the sixth time the series has taken its critically-acclaimed and award-winning "Indecision" coverage on the road to broadcast for a week, having previously travelled to Philadelphia (2000 RNC), Los Angeles (2000 DNC) and Boston (2004 DNC) to cover the national party conventions and to Washington, D.C. (2002) and Columbus, OH (2006) for special, mid-term election coverage. The series first earned its political stripes during the now-infamous 2000 election, receiving an Emmy Award and a prestigious George Foster Peabody Award for its year-long "Indecision 2000" coverage of the race for the White House, feats repeated during the series' "Indecision 2004" election reporting.

Politicians who have appeared on "The Daily Show" include former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, former Vice President Al Gore, Senators Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, John Kerry, Joe Biden, Joseph Lieberman, Bob Kerrey, Charles Schumer, Norm Coleman, Arlen Specter, Ted Kennedy, Trent Lott, Rick Santorum, Russ Feingold, Barbara Boxer, Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Rahm Emanuel, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Senator John Edwards, who announced his intention to run for the 2004 Democratic Presidential nomination during an appearance on the show on September 15, 2003. In addition, General Pervez Musharraf, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, was Stewart's guest on September 26, 2006, marking the first time a sitting head of state had appeared on the show.

"The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" was launched in the summer of 1996. The nightly news satire takes a reality-based look at news, trends, pop culture, current events, politics, sports, entertainment and the media. In each show, Stewart and a team of correspondents, including Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, Aasif Mandvi, John Oliver and Rob Riggle, comment on the day's stories employing actual news footage, taped field pieces, in-studio guests and on-the-spot coverage of important news events.

"The Daily Show" airs Monday-Thursday at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT and repeats at 1:00 a.m. the same night and at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. the following day.

Jon Stewart and David Javerbaum are the executive producers of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" with Rory Albanese, Kahane Corn and Josh Lieb serving as co-executive producers. The series' head writer is Steve Bodow. Chuck O'Neil is the director.
