No Workplace is Safe when TLC Premieres The Singing Office
Hosts Mel B. and Joey Fatone get to work starting on June 29 at 9 PM
Los Angeles, CA June 3, 2008 TLC offers the most unique way to get to know your co-workers when hosts Joey Fatone (*NSYNC) and Mel B. (Spice Girls) search for singers in the least likely of places the workplace! THE SINGING OFFICE goes searching for America's most surprising talent when it premieres Sunday June 29 at 9 PM ET/PT.
Each week, Joey and Mel will ambush an office, hold an impromptu audition in front of the employee's co-workers and recruit a team of the five best singers. Then, it's off to boot camp where Mel and Joey help their teams prepare for their time in the spotlight by coaching them on both their performance and their vocals. Following boot camp it's time to shine when the teams head to the stage for a choreographed sing-off to earn a spot in the finale and a chance to win the grand prize - $50,000.
"It's been great getting people to show off their singing talents and giving them a chance to live out their dreams on stage. You can tell they're loving this unexpected opportunity," said Joey. Added Mel, "It's been a blast we have found some amazing singers right there on the job. I think we've uncovered some real talent and it's been amazing giving everyday people a chance of a lifetime!"
THE OFFICES
In each hour-long episode, TLC follows as Mel and Joey each surprise a workplace with the goal of putting together a five-person team to learn a singing routine, complete with dance moves and costumes. Then it's Joey's office vs. Mel's office for a chance to compete in the finale. Each of the one-on-one competitions is judged by the studio audience; the finale, between the eight winning teams, is judged by renowned chart-topping singers Taylor Dayne and Jon Secada, and award-winning choreographer Travis Payne.
