Premiere Episode of 'Celebrity Circus' (June 11) Wins in the Key Demo 18-49 Demographic (10-11 p.m. ET)
BURBANK, Calif. - June 13, 2008 - After an exciting premiere episode of NBC's "Celebrity Circus" actor Christopher Knight will perform the "act of fire clowning" in which he will light himself on fire for his thrilling second week act on June 18 (9:30-11 p.m. ET). In addition, each of the celebrities will be back performing all-new acts in front of a live studio audience as the results from America's votes will be in -- and one celebrity will be going home.
On Wednesday, June 11 from 9:30-11 p.m. (ET), the premiere of "Celebrity Circus" delivered a 2.3/6 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall and scored NBC's highest non-sports rating on any night of the week for the month of June to date in adults 18-49. From 10-11 p.m., "Celebrity Circus" won the hour in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, men 18-49 and men 18-34.
The second week acts will include:
Wee Man battling the German Wheel, the same act in which Knight broke his arm. Wee Man will be paired with trainer Vladimir Sizov for a synchronized act.
Stacey Dash will perform on the Cerceau alongside trainer Sacha Fedorchev. Dash will be creating a sexy and high-energy routine flying 50 feet above the ground with no safety line or harness.
Antonio Sabato Jr. will push himself to the limit doing a hand-balancing act with his partner and trainer Christine Van Loo. There will be no room for errors as any little mistake could lead to serious injury.
Blu Cantrell will also battle fire and perform fire spinning. The act will integrate fire with dance to create a beautifully visual performance.
Janet Evans takes on the flying silks that will take her 40 feet above the ground with no safety harness of any kind. Evans will have to overcome her fears of flying when she performs with trainer Sebastian Stella.
Rachel Hunter will perform a new act that is somewhat like the hammock. Hunter will do aerial acrobatics inside and outside of the hammock and will also attempt to carry the weight of her partner Sacha Fedorchev as they fly over the audience.
"Celebrity Circus" is produced by Endemol USA, the Emmy Award-winning company behind "Deal or No Deal," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Big Brother," and "Fear Factor." Matt Kunitz ("Fear Factor") is executive producer and Rick Ringbakk ("The Amazing Race") serves as co-executive producer.
