G4 BRINGS A NEW TWIST TO EATING COMPETITIONS WITH HURL!

Hilarious Original Series Premieres July 15 at 9 pm ET/PT

LOS ANGELES, July 1, 2008 On July 15th G4 takes eating competitions to the next level with a hilarious new series that combines speed-eating with outrageous physical challenges. Brave contestants consume massive portions of all-American favorites and are then strapped into nausea-inducing contraptions designed to shake them up. The contestant to hold his or her food down the longest claims victory and walks away with a cash prize and, most importantly, serious bragging rights. Challenge winners with the best time who complete all rounds without hurling at any point, earn the highly coveted and elusive "Iron Stomach Award."

The half-hour series, "Hurl!" premieres July 15 at 9 pm ET/PT, only on G4. Following the premiere, the show will air weekly on Sundays at 7 pm ET/PT.

The competition consists of multiple rounds beginning with a speed-eating contest that features popular foods ranging from chicken pot pies to New England chowder, tuna casserole, hot dogs, blueberry pie and more. In the second round, contenders that ate the most in Round One move on to a physical challenge designed to cause even the strongest stomachs to rebel, including carnival rides, mechanical bull-riding and Sumo wrestling.

After the first two rounds, those who have been able to hold their stomachs in check are sent back for another round of eating, where they must chow down on an additional serving of a new menu item. The top two eaters then advance to another round of the physical challenge, which also includes a surprise twist that makes holding down ones food especially difficult. The winner of the days events who has eaten the most and has also managed to keep it all down, receives the coveted "Iron Stomach" award.

Each episode features two different cuisines, a new physical challenge and an outrageous surprise twist. Below is a sneak-peek at the upcoming episodes:

"Balls of Hurl"

Contestants eat as much Mac & Cheese as they can, then strap into steel-caged Human Bowling Balls and careen down LA's famous 2nd Street Tunnel. Pumpkin pie awaits those who don't blow chunks in the balls and then it's on to another spin.

"Flamethrowupper"

It's Zero G hurling as contestants slurp down as much Cream of Spinach soup as they can and then board the Flamethrower - a ride that flings them 360 degrees in the air, forwards and backwards! Survivors feast on tuna casserole before going on to more gravity-changing, stomach-churning fun.

"NASA NAuSeA"

Human Gyroscopes spin competitors in three gut-wrenching directions after they've consumed a collective 10 pounds of Chicken Pot Pie. In a surprise twist, contestants will return not to a new menu item but to more Chicken Pot Pie!

"Octopuke"

Contestants power down as much broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce as they can, before gutting it out on the "Octopus" - a multi-armed carnival ride with a mega-nausea inducing reputation. Chocolate pudding provides the second course before the whirling continues.

"Merry-go-Retch"

Playground fun as contestants wolf down as many Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches as they can before a wild ride on the Merry-go-Round. Holding it down earns an Ambrosia Salad feast and a spin on the Tire Swing.

"Hurlympics"

Contestants eat as much won ton soup and dim sum as they can and then test their iron stomachs on the "Megaloop" - a sixty foot high vertical loop roller coaster. Jelly donuts and more loop-d-loops serve as the tie-breaker treat.

"That's Bull"

It's a special "Girl Hurl" as five ladies eat as much Franks 'n Beans as they can and brave the "Mechanical Bulls." Creamed Corn and more bucking await those who make it through.

"Hurlpool"

Contestants try to avoid hurling underwater after all-you-can-eat BBQ followed by laps and bellyflops in a backyard pool. Blueberry pie serves as the delicious and colorful second course.

"Tempest in a Teacup"

Competitors guzzle as much Clam Chowder as they can before testing their intestinal fortitude against the double-axis action of the infamous Spinning Teacups ride.

"Sumo Arigato"

Hurl! goes to sea where contestants eat as much noodle soup and sushi before bumping bellies with real 350-plus pound Sumo Wrestlers and riding Spinning Chairs built on a rocking barge in the waters of LA Harbor.

Viewers will laugh and cringe their way through each outrageous half-hour episode as they witness revolting eliminations, amazing feats of eating and the hilarious celebrations of victorious Iron Stomach award winners.

The half-hour series, "Hurl!" premieres July 15 at 9 pm ET/PT, only on G4. Following the premiere, the show will air weekly on Sundays at 7 pm ET/PT.
