MILEY CYRUS TO PERFORM AND CELEBRATE 16TH BIRTHDAY AT "2008 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS," NOVEMBER 23 ON ABC

Cyrus Will Join Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Kanye West, Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Many More at 36th Annual AMAs; New Presenters Include Jordin Sparks, Scott Weiland and Billy Ray Cyrus

dick clark productions President Orly Adelson announced that Miley Cyrus will be spending her 16th Birthday at the AMAs, where she will also perform live. Jimmy Kimmel will host the 36th annual AMAs, which will also feature performances by Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Kanye West, Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, New Kids on the Block, Pussycat Dolls, Taylor Swift, P!nk, The Fray and Annie Lennox, who will receive the special Award of Merit. Adelson also announced that Jordin Sparks, Scott Weiland and Billy Ray Cyrus would be awarding trophies at the ceremony. The show will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. This year's AMA tickets and VIP ticket packages are now on sale (please visit www.ticketmaster.com or call 1-877-AEG-TICKETS).

"I am so excited to be able to perform live for my fans at the American Music Awards and celebrate my Sweet 16 too," said Cyrus. Currently Cyrus is in production on her third season of her hit Disney Channel TV series, "Hannah Montana," and will be seen this month in Walt Disney Pictures' animated feature "Bolt," with John Travolta. The Platinum Edition of her #1 album, "Breakout," which features her current single, "Fly on the Wall," will be released November 18. "Hannah Montana: The Movie," filmed in Cyrus' hometown of Nashville, is scheduled for release in April 2009. Also in the spring of 2009, she will release a book sharing her inspiring story, from her Southern roots in Tennessee to the excitement of her record-setting triumphs in TV, music and film.

Music fans are now able to vote for the T-Mobile "Breakthrough Artist" Award. The nominees for this special award are Colbie Caillat, Flo Rida, Jonas Brothers, Paramore and The-Dream. T-Mobile customers can vote via text message (standard text-messaging rates apply) and/or fans can vote at ama.abc.com. Voting for the T-Mobile "Breakthrough Artist" Award concludes during the American Music Awards on November 23.
