LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- CBS is sticking with its freshman comedies "Gary Unmarried" and "Worst Week," ordering additional episodes of each today.
"Gary" has been given the go ahead for seven additional episodes plus two scripts. Said order brings its season total to at least 20 installments.
"Week" then has been picked up for three more episodes, bringing its total to 16.
Both comedies, as is custom, opened the season with 13-episode commitments. The Eye laid the track for the additional orders last month when it asked for four more scripts of each show.
The Jay Mohr-led "Gary" drew a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 on Wednesday, once again building off its lead-in "The New Adventures of Old Christine" (2.0 rating).
As for "Week," the show's most recent broadcast on Monday drew a 2.9 rating in the key demographic, well short of its lead-in "Two and a Half Men" (4.9 rating). It's believed that the shortened commitment to "Week" is designed to make room for the return of "Rules of Engagement" at midseason.
