Special Broadcast Will Also Feature Performances from Hollywood by Natasha Bedingfield, Fall Out Boy, Jesse McCartney, Ne-Yo, Pussycat Dolls, Solange and Robin Thicke as Well as the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift and Lionel Richie Live from Times Square

ABC and dick clark productions announced today that multi-platinum, three-time Grammy Award-winning artist, acclaimed producer and Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am is scheduled to perform his latest song, "It's A New Day," celebrating the historic victory of President-elect Barack Obama, on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2009." "It's A New Day" follows on the success of Will's Emmy Award-winning "Yes We Can Song," which received over 15 million views on YouTube.

The specials will be broadcast on ABC, hosted by Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest from New York. It will kick off with "Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2009" from 10-11 p.m. ET/PT. After taking a half-hour break for local news, the specials will resume at 11:30 p.m. for reports on the final minutes of the year 2008, the traditional Times Square countdown to midnight and more special musical performances. Country music star Kellie Pickler will report live on what's happening in and around Times Square.

Also performing on the special from Times Square in New York will be the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift and Lionel Richie, while Natasha Bedingfield, Fall Out Boy, Jesse McCartney, Ne-Yo, Pussycat Dolls, Solange and Robin Thicke will celebrate and perform during the Hollywood Party segments of the broadcast which will be hosted by Fergie.

Along with original members apl.de.ap and Taboo, will.i.am has led Black Eyed Peas for their decade together. With 2003's breakthrough album "Elephunk," and Fergie's entry into the lineup, the Peas became international superstars. The album contained hit after hit, starting with the worldwide #1 "Where Is the Love," featuring Justin Timberlake, then "Shut Up," "Hey Mama," and "Let's Get It Started," which won the group its first of two Rap Grammy Awards. The second Grammy came their way for "Don't Phunk with My Heart," from their "Monkey Business" album which also included the all-time classic "My Humps," which broke the Pop Grammy barrier for the group, winning them their third Grammy. Total global sales of Black Eyed Peas records and videos exceed 20 million units. Then Will followed with "Songs About Girls," his first solo effort, and he recently teamed up with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer for "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa." In addition to completing his first full-length motion picture soundtrack album collaboration, penning four brand new original songs (and the instrumental score), will.i.am did double-duty as the voice of a new character, Moto Moto.
