TLC GOES ON THE MARKET WITH TWO NEW SERIES
DEALS ON THE BUS and REAL ESTATE ROAD TEST premiere January 31
Los Angeles, CA January 26, 2009 TLC makes a move on the property market
with two new series that join the networks Saturday night block on January 31,
2009. DEALS ON THE BUS and REAL ESTATE ROAD TEST each offer a different
perspective at the state of real estate and give viewers the opportunity to keep up
with the trends, tips, and transactions that are driving the current housing climate.
"The housing market has changed, and these shows reflect that change. After years
of rising real estate values, would-be homeowners are now finding themselves in a
'buyers' market'. We will follow along as these bargain hunters find the perfect
house to call their home," explained Nancy Daniels, SVP Programming &
Development, TLC.
DEALS ON THE BUS (10:00 PM ET/PT) will board the growing trend of bus tours
that take prospective homeowners to bank-owned properties in the hopes of
helping them find an affordable dream come true. However, competition could
become fierce when buyers realize they arent the only ones interested in a house.
By bringing potential buyers to available homes, the tours aim to improve
neighborhoods, help families find homes they can afford, and help for anyone
looking to ride the market.
Then, house hunting is hard enough, but how do you really know that the home is
actually the right one? In each episode of REAL ESTATE ROAD TEST (10:30 PM
ET/PT) host Doug Wilson will help a family on their journey to buy a home, from the
first look to the dotted line, but gives them the additional bonus to actually road test
it. By spending a night in two of the homes, the family will find out which one is the
perfect or not so perfect fit for them.
DEALS ON THE BUS is produced for TLC by Actual Reality Pictures/Organized Chaos
Prods. Executive producer for Actually Reality Pictures is R.J. Cutler. Executive
producer for Organized Chaos Prods is Sara Chazen Leand. REAL ESTATE ROAD
TEST is produced for TLC by BBC Worldwide Productions, and is executive
