BRAVO ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT OF FRED SEGAL DOCU-SERIES GOING INSIDE THE PREMIER LOS ANGELES BOUTIQUE
NEW YORK, NY - April 21, 2009 - Today, Bravo announced a new project in development, an untitled docu-series that will revolve around the Santa Monica-based premier landmark boutique, Fred Segal Fun. The announcement was made by Frances Berwick, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Bravo Media.
"Bravo has established itself as the go to network for the hottest, trendiest and most dramatic docu-series on television," said Berwick. "Fred Segal is a legendary retail haven synonymous with high fashion and style, and the fashionistas who work, shop and gossip at the store promise to have arresting, entertaining, colorful personalities and lives."
Fred Segal Fun in Santa Monica is where the fashion forward acquire the latest clothes, shoes, accessories and beauty products in one fabulous spot. Packed with the big personalities and major drama that often come with trying to stay on top in the cutthroat world of high-end retail, the famed fashion outlet has demanding clientele and celebrities popping in every day. At the store, life is always unpredictable, especially when you mix in a stressed and competitive sales team.
Most of Fred Segal Fun's customers are regulars, and to them shopping is like therapy, a reprieve from problems at home and the stresses of getting their kids into the right private school or when the next audition might be. As for the sales team, who are close friends with these regulars, they are a tight clique with packed social calendars that includes celebrity events, fashion shows and parties. But in these tough economic times, the pressure to perform and make that sale is more intense than ever.
The untitled Fred Segal docu-series is produced by Target Entertainment. Jenny Daly and Gunnar Wetterberg serve as executive producers, developing the series for Bravo.
