Looks Will Kill This Summer as Lifetime Movie Network Presents the Crime of Fashion Mysteries

Killer Hair & Hostile Makeover

MAGGIE LAWSON, MARK CONSUELOS, MARIO CANTONE, FINOLA HUGHES and MARY McDONNELL Star in the Stylish Thrillers

LOS ANGELES, May 26 -- The fashion police are out in force this summer as Lifetime Movie Network premieres two fashionably fabulous murder mysteries. Maggie Lawson (Psych) stars as Lacey Smithsonian, a Washington, D.C., fashion reporter whose beat turns deadly when she stumbles upon some hair-raising murders in Killer Hair and Hostile Makeover. Mark Consuelos (Hope & Faith), Mario Cantone (Sex and the City), Emmy(R) Award-winner Finola Hughes (General Hospital), Academy(R) Award nominee Mary McDonnell (Dances with Wolves) and Victor Webster (Lincoln Heights) round out the "ensemble." Killer Hair premieres on Sunday, June 21, at 8pm ET/9pm PT, and Hostile Makeover premieres on Sunday, June 28, at 8pm ET/9pm PT on Lifetime Movie Network, Lifetime's sister network and the second highest rated women's channel.

The films are based on author Ellen Byerrum's popular franchise, the Crime of Fashion mysteries, and they launch Lifetime Movie Network's Best Seller Summer, a seasonal slate of films based on popular books. August will feature original adaptations of New York Times best-selling author Ann Rule's crime novels, Too Late to Say Goodbye, starring Rob Lowe (The West Wing, Brothers and Sisters), and Everything She Ever Wanted, starring Gina Gershon (Bound, Face/Off) and Victor Garber (TV's Alias, Milk).

ABOUT KILLER HAIR

Lacey Smithsonian (Lawson) is a fashion columnist for a Washington, D.C., newspaper who ends up reporting on more than just style when dead bodies keep mysteriously crossing her path. Believing you are what you wear - and that everything you wear is a fashion clue - Lacey uses her style-savvy sense to get to the bottom of the murders that have taken place at her girlfriend Stella's (Sadie LeBlanc, Rumours) hair salon. As Lacey continues to follow the killer's trail, she must stay out of her newspaper's ego-driven crime reporter's (Consuelos) way and determine which of the salon's colorful characters could be the murderer. Is it the unfaithful owner's competitive wife, Josette (Hughes), or could it be Josette's loyal friend and the salon's top-stylist, Leonardo (Cantone)? The only thing that knocks Lacey off her high-heel stride is her ex-boyfriend, Vic Donovan (Webster), who coincidentally turns out to be the lead detective on the case. Along with the help of her friends, Lacey works to solve the mysteries, all the while scrambling to meet her Crime of Fashion column deadlines.

ABOUT HOSTILE MAKEOVER

Street-smart, fashion journalist Lacey Smithsonian continues to scoop her fellow reporters when she becomes a witness to the murder of a well-known supermodel. Soon, the world of high fashion comes undone when a killer is on the loose, and Lacey must once again use her stylish investigative skills to get the headline and solve the case. The story becomes a family affair when Lacey's mother (McDonnell) and sister (Katharine Isabelle, Supernatural) drop in and unwittingly become involved in the investigation. Will Lacey be able to keep her personal life from unraveling and save the world of haute couture from another murder?

ABOUT THE CAST

Maggie Lawson is best known for her role as "Juliet O'Hara" on the popular USA series Psych. She developed a love of acting early in life and, at the age of ten, became a regular on her local Louisville television station. She received her big break in 2000, when she starred as twins opposite Justin Timberlake in Model Behavior. Lawson's additional television credits include recurring roles on Family Rules, Party of Five, It's All Relative and Crumbs.

Born in Spain, Mark Consuelos spent his childhood in both Italy and the United States. After attending Notre Dame and graduating from the University of South Florida, he turned his focus to acting and secured the role of "Mateo Santos" on the long-running soap opera All My Children. It was on the set of the legendary daytime drama that he met his wife, then onscreen love interest, Kelly Ripa. The couple went on to star opposite each other in the ABC hit comedy Hope & Faith. His television resume includes roles on American Family, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Ugly Betty and he is a regular on the "Fridays Live" panel on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Mark's film credits include Wedding Daze, My Super Ex-Girlfriend and the WWII action film The Great Raid, based on the true story of Gen. Douglas MacArthur's secret raid on a POW camp.

Mario Cantone became one of television's favorite characters when he landed the part of wedding planner "Anthony Marantino" on HBO's smash hit Sex and the City. An accomplished comedian and stage actor, Cantone made his Broadway debut in the 1995 Tony(R) Award-winning play, Love! Valour! Compassion! His comedy credits include appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central Presents: Mario Cantone and his critically acclaimed one-man show Laugh Whore, which aired on Showtime. Most recently, he appeared on the series Men in Trees and starred in the blockbuster film Sex and the City.

Television soap icon Finola Hughes has been nominated four times for a Daytime Emmy(R) Award in the category of "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series," picking up the coveted statue for her work on General Hospital. Hughes is also well known for her role as "Dr. Alexandra Devane" on the long-running ABC daytime drama All My Children. Her other television credits include recurring roles on Blossom, Pacific Palisades, Sunset Beach and Charmed. In addition, she was the host of the Style Network's popular show How Do I Look? and co-produced their new series Running in Heels. Hughes also starred opposite John Travolta in the feature film Staying Alive.

Mary McDonnell is an accomplished film, stage and television actress. She earned Oscar(R) and Golden Globe(R) nominations for her roles in Passion Fish and Dances with Wolves. McDonnell was also nominated for an "Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series" Emmy(R) for her appearance on ER and, in 1980, won an Obie for her role in the play Still Life. Her filmography includes roles in Grand Canyon, Sneakers, Independence Day and Donnie Darko. McDonnell's television credits include recurring roles on High Society, Grey's Anatomy, and, most recently, Battlestar Galactica. She will next be seen in a multi-episode arc on the TNT series The Closer.

Canadian Victor Webster's acting career began as soon as he landed in Los Angeles with roles on Sunset Beach and Days of Our Lives. He went on to guest star on popular shows including Baywatch, Sex and the City, Las Vegas, Reba and Dirt. Webster has also had lead roles on Mutant X, Related, Charmed, Lincoln Heights, and, most recently, Harper's Island. His film credits include Bringing Down the House and Must Love Dogs. He can be seen in the upcoming films Surrogates, Burning Palms and The Proposal.

Byerrum is most well known for her popular Crime of Fashion mysteries, which include Killer Hair, Designer Knockoff, Hostile Makeover, Raiders of the Lost Corset, Grave Apparel and Armed and Glamorous.
