FUSE GREENLIGHTS FOUR NEW SHOWS
Four Hosted Series, Each Dedicated to One Genre of Music
Including Rock, Alternative, Pop and Hip Hop
Pop Culture and Music Insider Toure' Signs on as Host of "Hip Hop Shop"
New York, NY (August 20, 2009) - Fuse, the only network dedicated to music, has green-lit the production of four new original series. "Let It Rock," "Distortion," "The Pop Show" and "Hip Hop Shop" will showcase the most current and notable artists of today as well as music videos, news and happenings in the world of rock, alternative, pop, and hip hop. Each show will feature a different host, including pop culture and music insider Toure' who has signed on to host "Hip Hop Shop."
"These four new shows are a great addition to the wide variety of music programming fans can currently find on Fuse," said David Weier, vice president of programming, Fuse. "By dedicating an expert host and entire show to each genre, music enthusiasts will have the opportunity to watch their favorite music videos, get tour and festival information and check out the hottest artists and celebrities."
Let it Rock premiered Monday, August 3rd at 7p ET
Fans can get the inside track on all things rock with Fuse's brand new weekly series, "Let It Rock." Hosted by Juliya, "Let It Rock" will air the latest videos and update viewers on the wide world of rock with news, interviews and special guests. Juliya, Fuse's resident rock and metal expert, previously hosted Fuse programs "Uranium," "Slave to the Metal" and "No. 1 Countdown," and has also been featured in Maxim magazine and Stuff.
Distortion premiered Thursday, August 6th at 7p ET
Veteran Fuse host Steven Smith delivers a weekly dose of alternative music videos, news and tour info in this all-new show. From breakout bands to artists and songs that define the genre, "Distortion" is an in-depth look into the alternative music scene. Steven joined Fuse in 2002 to host the network's first live music and talent interview show and later landed himself his very own show, "Steven's Untitled Rock Show." He appears on numerous pop culture news shows as a music industry expert and has written for Alternative Press magazine.
The Pop Show premieres Tuesday, August 25th at 7p ET
Hosted by Allison Hagendorf, "The Pop Show," is the go-to source for mega-hits from today's biggest music stars. Spanning the very latest chart-topping videos to the smash hits of years past, "The Pop Show" features music's heavy hitters. A fresh face on Fuse, Allison is no stranger to the world of music. For the past eight years she worked in A&R for SonyBMG at both Columbia Records and Epic Records and hosts in-store artist performances for the online series "Steve Madden Music."
Hip Hop Shop premieres Wednesday, September 23 at 7p ET
Hosted by Fuse's newest pop culture and music insider Toure', "The Hip Hop Shop" will serve up a weekly jolt of urban flavor with the very latest hip hop, R&B jams and the most notable classics. The show will dive into the world of hip hop, with up-to-date news, interviews and celebrity guests. Toure' was CNN's first pop culture correspondent, appearing on CNN's "American Morning's 90 Second Pop" and covering the Oscars and Grammys. He has also worked as a host for BET and "Access Hollywood," is the author of three books and has been published in the New Yorker and New York Times. Toure's work can also be seen in Rolling Stone, where he served as a contributing editor since 1997.
"Let It Rock," "Distortion," "The Pop Show" and "Hip Hop Shop" will be taped in Fuse's 7th Avenue studio and each will be hosted by Fuse personalities who are experts in their specific genres. The four, 60-minute shows will deliver today's most buzz-worthy celebrities and artists, the hottest new and throw-back music videos along with the latest in concert information and internet buzz.
