THE MUPPETS' KERMIT THE FROG AND MISS PIGGY PERFORM ON 'AMERICA'S GOT TALENT' WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. September 1, 2009 The Muppets' Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will perform on "America's Got Talent's" live results show Wednesday, September 2 (9-10 p.m. ET) on NBC. They will be performing before previously announced performer, judge David Hasselhoff. The Muppets favorite theatergoers and opera box buddies, Statler and Waldorf, will also be there to provide their signature commentary.
The Muppets have been a worldwide phenomena for more than 50 years. From their humble beginnings on local television and variety show appearances, through their incredible success in six theatrical motion pictures (including "The Muppet Movie"), their Grammy-winning music career, and their Emmy-winning international television hit "The Muppet Show", the Muppets have gone where no troupe of frogs, pigs, bears, andwell, whatever, have ever gone before. The Muppets are led by Kermit, the world's most famous frog (and one of the nicest stars, amphibian or otherwise) in all of Hollywood. Together with the unfathomably famous Miss Piggy, the arduously amusing Fozzie Bear, and undeniably odd Gonzo, and many others, Kermit and the Muppets continue to be sensational, inspirational andof course, Muppetational.
"America's Got Talent" is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell's SYCO Television. Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz ("American Idol"), Jason Raff ("Momma's Boys") and Scott St. John ("Deal or No Deal") serve as executive producers.
