LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10 - Famed dance duo Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff ("Dancing with the Stars") will perform in a segment honoring dance in reality television on the 61ST PRIMETIME EMMY� AWARDS. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, the Emmys will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Sunday, Sept. 20 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy ("Dancing with the Stars") is a world renowned choreographer and dance instructor. Recently, he teamed with famed director Franco Dragone revamping the immensely popular stage show Le Reve at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. Maks, as he is known, owns and operates Dance with Me and Rising Stars Dance Academy in New Jersey and New York, and sits on the board of the non-profit organization DanceTeamUSA.

Karina Smirnoff ("Dancing with the Stars") has won five U.S. National Championships, the U.S. Open, the Asian Open and the U.K. Open. She recently starred in the Broadway musical "Burn the Floor" and serves as an E! Entertainment special correspondent. Born and raised in Ukraine, Smirnoff began competitive ballroom dancing at age 11. Currently, she is opening up a dance studio in Los Angeles.

The 61ST PRIMETIME EMMY� AWARDS is being produced by Don Mischer Productions. Multiple Emmy Award winner Don Mischer recently produced and directed "We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial," and the Bruce Springsteen Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show.
