LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Syfy will expand its "Ghost Hunters" franchise yet again with the launch of "Ghost Hunters Academy" on Wednesday, November 11, network sources confirmed to the site today.
The spin-off will take over the 10:00/9:00c hour from "Destination Truth," which wraps its third season the previous week.
Syfy ordered six episodes of the project, which previously featured the titles "Ghost Hunters: New Generation" and "Ghost Hunters: College Edition," back in December. The series follows "a group of college students, led by seasoned TAPS investigators Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango, who search for the paranormal in haunted hotspots around the country and around the world."
Also due in November: previously announced original movies "Ice Twisters" (Saturday, November 14) and "Beyond Sherwood" (Saturday, November 28) as well as "2012: Startling New Secrets" (Sunday, November 8), a two-hour special timed with the release of the Roland Emmerich film of the same name.
