dick clark productions President Orly Adelson has announced that Eminem and Lady Gaga will perform at the "2009 American Music Awards." They will join other previously announced acts including Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, The Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry and Adam Lambert. Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. The show will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOV. 22 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. This year's AMA tickets and VIP ticket packages are now on sale (please visit www.ticketmaster.com or call 1-877-AEG-TICKETS).

"We are excited to have Eminem and Lady Gaga on the show this year," said American Music Awards producer Larry Klein. "You can never predict what surprises they have lined up, so these are sure to be unique and memorable performances."

For the third year, winners will be determined by online voting at www.ama.abc.com, www.amavote.com and www.mycokerewards.com. Artists will be honored in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin and Contemporary Inspirational.
