CAPRICA (Syfy) - ChicagoTribune.com reports the network has rolled back its commitment to the series from 20 hours to 19. Said cut comes as the result of budget overruns on the installments produced to date.

KEEP HOPE ALIVE (FOX) - Martha Plimpton, Olesya Rulin and newcomer Lucas Neff have all joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about Jimmy (Neff), "a 25-year-old man raising an infant with the help of his quirky family after the mother of the baby, with whom he had a one-night stand, ends up on death row." Plimpton will play "Jimmy's no-nonsense mother who got pregnant with him when she was 16 and has no interest in raising another baby" while Rulin is set as "a smart waitress whom Jimmy considers the perfect woman to help him raise his daughter." Michael Fresco is helming the 20th Century Fox Television-based half-hour from a script by creator Greg Garcia.

THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE (CBS) - Creator Kari Lizer has inked a three-year, high-seven-figure overall deal with Warner Bros. Television. The pact keeps the writer/producer at the helm of the Julia Louis-Dreyfus-led comedy should it be renewed for a sixth season. In addition, she'll develop new series projects for the studio.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS (ABC Family) - Troian Bellisario and Ian Harding have both landed roles on the drama pilot, about teenagers Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily, Spencer (Bellisario) and Hanna, "who begin to receive mysterious messages, seemingly from their girlfriend who disappeared three years before." Harding then will play "a recent college grad who becomes Aria's high school teacher and gets in a relationship with her." Marlene King penned the hour, which is based on Sara Shepard's young adult book series of the same name. Alloy Entertainment's Bob Levy and Leslie Morgenstein also serve as executive producers.

UNTITLED MICHAEL JACOBS PROJECT (ABC Family) - Scott Cohen ("Gilmore Girls") and Stephanie Childers ("Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip") have joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about "a recently laid-off architect (Cohen) who begins to mentor his underdog middle daughter, while his veterinarian wife (Childers) shares a closer bond with their Type-A older daughter." Michael Jacobs is behind the single-camera half-hour.
