KEVIN POLLAK PUTS MENTAL EXCELLENCE TO THE TEST AS HOST OF FOX'S "OUR LITTLE GENIUS"
New Game Show from Producers of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?"
Premieres Wednesday, January 13, on FOX
Actor and comedian Kevin Pollak has been tapped to host OUR LITTLE GENIUS, the new game show that gives real child geniuses a chance to put their incredible knowledge to the test and win life-changing money for their families. OUR LITTLE GENIUS premieres Wednesday, Jan. 13 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) following AMERICAN IDOL, and makes its time period premiere Tuesday, Jan. 19 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
"I've been a fan of Kevin Pollak's work for many years. His incredible humor, intelligence and quick wit are all perfect additions to an incredibly dynamic format," said OUR LITTLE GENIUS executive producer Mark Burnett. "He instinctively knows when to add seriousness and when to add humor. I am so glad he has joined the OUR LITTLE GENIUS team."
To play, little geniuses must answer increasingly difficult questions as they work their way up to win their family hundreds of thousands of dollars. However, there is one catch: the little genius' parents can stop the game at any time and choose to walk away with the winnings for their family. To help them make informed decisions during the game, these moms and dads of average intelligence may check in with a panel of leading adult experts ranging from Ivy League professors to renowned doctors to award-winning scientists to see how they performed when answering the same questions.
Over the past two decades, Kevin Pollak has appeared in over 60 films and television projects, and has established himself as one of the few stand-up comedians also to have a successful dramatic film career. Pollak first started performing stand-up comedy at 10 years old, and then became a touring professional at age 20. He can next be seen starring in "Middle Men" opposite Luke Wilson and "A Couple of Dicks" opposite Bruce Willis both of which will be released in 2010. Pollak can also been seen on his live streaming video talk show called "Chat Show." His first big break came in 1988 when he landed a role in George Lucas' "Willow." Highlights of Pollak's film career include "The Usual Suspects," Martin Scorsese's "Casino" with Robert DeNiro, "Avalon," "A Few Good Men" and "Grumpy Old Men." Pollak hosted the first season of "Celebrity Poker Showdown," and starred in two cable comedy specials, including "Kevin Pollak: Stop With The Kicking."
