With a body of work that encompasses dance, television, film, comedy and theater, Carmen Electra is widely known as one of Hollywood's most versatile personalities. Growing up, Electra always knew she was destined to be an entertainer. After graduating from Cincinnati's School for Creative and Performing Arts in 1991, she moved west. Not long after arriving in Los Angeles, Electra caught the eye of Prince, who would go on to produce her self-titled debut album. Electra ultimately ventured into acting with regular roles on "Baywatch" and "Singled Out," and has since made the move to the big screen with roles in "Scary Movie," "Dirty Love," "Cheaper by the Dozen 2" and "Meet the Spartans." Electra won the role as the face of MAX Factor following in the famous footsteps of Marilyn Monroe and Jaclyn Smith. Then, in 2006, Electra became a published author with the release of her book "How To Be Sexy." She also formed a dance troupe, the Bombshells, who perform nationwide, and she recently released the fitness DVD series "Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease." Recently, Electra appeared live on stage in MGM Grand Vegas' Crazy Horse Burlesque Show to sold-out audiences. Electra can currently be seen in the film "Oy Vey, My Son is Gay."
Less than a year ago, Kris Allen was a struggling musician living in Conway, AR. After winning AMERICAN IDOL in May 2009, he signed to 19 Recordings/Jive Records and recently released his debut album "Kris Allen," which includes collaborations with members of The Fray, Train, The Script and Switchfoot, as well as musicians who have written and produced for some of the biggest names in music, including Fergie, Beyonc, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and Dr. Dre. His debut album reveals the 24-year-old to be a multi-dimensional artist who has recorded a consummate pop album.
A devoted AMERICAN IDOL fan since the show's debut, Los Angeles native Allison Iraheta turned her childhood dream into reality when she became one of the final four contestants on Season Eight. The 17-year old singer impressed the AMERICAN IDOL judges and viewers with performances that reached well beyond her years. Her debut album, "Just Like You," on 19 Recordings/Jive Records, was released December 1 and features the new single "Friday I'll Be Over U," penned and produced by Swedish hit-maker Max Martin. Also included on the album is "No One Else," which was co-written by Kara DioGuardi, Greg Wells and P!nk.
Much has happened since 19-year-old Sean Kingston emerged on the scene in July 2007. His single, "Beautiful Girls," made history as one of the fastest ascents up the charts ever. The singer/rapper scored three more Top 10 hits, including "Me Love," "Take You There" and "There's Nothin'." Kingston has sold more than 6 million digital singles, more than 4.5 million ringtones and has toured with Gwen Stefani. His self-titled debut, "Sean Kingston," went to No. 1 in 21 countries and sold over 1 million worldwide. "Take You There" and "Love Like This" climbed the radio and iTunes charts together giving him back-to-back hits in January. With a musical bloodline that includes Jamaican legendary producer Jack Ruby as his grandfather, it's no wonder that Kingston, who recently released his sophomore album, "Tomorrow," for Epic Records, was able to introduce a new genre where rap, reggae, pop, doo-wop and remarkable songwriting all combine into something totally refreshing.
BILLBOARD'S NEW YEAR'S EVE LIVE is executive-produced by Bob Bain, produced by Paul Flattery and directed by Michael Dempsey.
