LOS ANGELES, Dec. 15 -- Lifetime Television, the leading entertainment destination for women, has received four nominations for the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards, including the Lifetime Original Movie Georgia O'Keeffe (Best Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television); Joan Allen, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Sigourney Weaver, Prayers for Bobby (Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television); and Jeremy Irons, Georgia O'Keeffe (Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television). The four nominations represent a single year Golden Globe record for Lifetime, while, among basic-cable networks, Lifetime received the most nominations this year.

ABOUT PRAYERS FOR BOBBY

Mary Griffith (Sigourney Weaver) is a devout Christian who has raised her children with a conservative religious perspective. When her younger son, Bobby (Ryan Kelley), reveals to his older brother that he is gay, the entire family dynamic is irrevocably shifted. While Bobby's father and siblings slowly come to terms with his homosexuality, Mary turns to her steadfast beliefs in an attempt to "cure" her son. Alienated and quickly becoming more detached from the safety of his close knit family, Bobby's depression drives him to suicide. Now, faced with the devastating tragedy of losing a child, Mary begins to question her faith and, through a painfully emotional journey, ultimately draws strength and support from the gay community.

Set in 1970s California, Prayers for Bobby is based on a true story and the groundbreaking book of the same name by Leroy Aarons. In addition to Weaver, Prayers for Bobby starred Ryan Kelley (Mean Creek), Henry Czerny (The Tudors), Austin Nichols (John from Cincinnati), Dan Butler (Frasier), Scott Bailey (Guiding Light) and Susan Ruttan (LA Law).

Prayers for Bobby was produced by Once Upon A Time Films in association with Permut Presentations and Sladek Taaffe Productions for Lifetime Television. Emmy Award winner Stanley M. Brooks (LMN's Capture of the Green River Killer, Broken Trail), David Permut (Face/Off), Daniel Sladek (Tale of the Mummy) and Chris Taaffe (Thank Heaven) executive produced. Silvio Muraglia (High Speed), David Steinberg, Leroy Aarons, Mary Griffith and Steve Longi (Charlie Bartlett) served as co-producers. Damian Ganczewski (Broken Trail) produced the movie. Russell Mulcahy (Queer as Folk, Swimming Up Stream) directed from a script written by Katie Ford (Miss Congeniality).

Prayers for Bobby captivated a wide audience and drew substantial ratings, garnering 3.8 million total viewers (3.1 HH rating) during its January 24, 2009, premiere.

ABOUT GEORGIA O'KEEFFE

The Lifetime Original Movie Georgia O'Keeffe, starring three-time Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee Joan Allen (The Contender, The Upside of Anger) and Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Jeremy Irons (Reversal of Fortune, Elizabeth I), premiered on Lifetime Television on September 19, 2009. Directed by Academy Award nominee Bob Balaban (Gosford Park, Bernard and Doris) from a script by Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Cristofer, the dramatic biopic chronicles the turbulent, 20-year love affair between celebrated artist Georgia O'Keeffe (Allen) and photographer Alfred Stieglitz (Irons). Allen also served as an executive producer alongside City Entertainment's Joshua D. Maurer (Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, The Hoax) and Alixandre Witlin (Dodson's Journey).

When fiercely independent and then unknown female artist Georgia O'Keeffe (Allen) discovers famed photographer and art impresario Alfred Stieglitz (Irons) is displaying her drawings in his gallery without her permission, she confronts him and orders him to remove the collection. But Georgia finds herself taken with Alfred's charms as he convinces her to allow him to become her benefactor and to champion her artistry. Their working relationship evolves as they fall deeply in love and Alfred eventually leaves his wife for Georgia. She soon becomes a rising star who is poised to eclipse Alfred's light. As their relationship suffers, Alfred finds twisted ways to emotionally wound her, including taking a younger lover. Georgia's search for solace moves her west, where she finds new inspiration for her paintings - and ultimately her own voice - in the New Mexico landscape.

Georgia O'Keeffe was produced by Sony Pictures Television for Lifetime Television. Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated producer Joshua D. Maurer (Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, The Hoax), Alixandre Witlin (Dodson's Journey) and Joan Allen executive produced, and Bob Balaban directed from Michael Cristofer's script. Anthony Mark (And Starring Poncho Villa as Himself) produced.
