LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:
Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!
FLASH FORWARD (ABC) - Executive producer Jessika Borsiczky has inked an overall deal with ABC Studios. The pact, details of which weren't specified, calls for the former co-showrunner to develop new series projects for the studio as well as potentially join one of its existing properties. Separately, she's booked the single-camera comedy "House of Lies," which looks at the woes of corporate America, at Showtime. Matt Carnahan penned the half-hour project, which is based on Martin Kihn's 2005 book "House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Then Tell You the Time."
THE INCURABLES (A&E, New!) - British self-help guru Paul McKenna is set to be the focus of a potential new reality series at the cable channel that "will offer a look into the lives of ordinary people on the verge of a personal crisis over their irrational behavior (from uncontrollable shouting to bizarre facial tics)." Ryan Seacrest Productions and McKenna Media are behind the hour, which has a pilot commitment at the network. Sam Mettler ("Intervention") then will executive produce the project alongside Seacrest and McKenna.
LOVE BITES (NBC) - Jordana Spiro has reportedly dropped out of the newcomer, an upcoming romantic anthology series at the Peacock. It's understood said decision is tied to her second position status on the show as she's still contractually bound to a fifth season of TBS's "My Boys" should it move forward. It's not clear how her exit will be handled.
OFFICE BONUS (VH1, New!) - Reality house 3 Ball Productions ("Dad Camp," "The OCD Project") has booked a pilot order for a new reality series at the cable channel in which a group of pencil-pushing employees are locked in their workplace for 72 hours and must vote for one of them to receive a $50,000 bonus. The company's JD Roth, Todd Nelson and Adam Greener are serving as executive producers. Additional details weren't specified.
UNTITLED GEORGE HAMILTON PROJECT (TV Land, New!) - George Hamilton is developing a reality series at the network which would follow the infamously tangelo actor and his thirtysomething son Ashley, both perpetual bachelors, as the former's other son, 10-year-old George Thomas, comes to live with them in Los Angeles. Dubbed a reality version of "Two and a Half Men," said effort comes from Bunim-Murray Productions. No other specifics were given.
