LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Discovery plans to roll out new seasons of "Man vs. Wild," "Swords: Life on the Line" and "Pitchmen" next month following its 23rd edition of "Shark Week" (August 1-7).
First out of the gate is the sophomore season of "Swords," due on Tuesday, August 10 at 9:00/8:00c, while "Man vs. Wild's" fifth season launches the following night, Wednesday, August 11, at 9:00/8:00c.
Rounding out the trio is "Pitchmen," whose second season will bow at an unspecified date later that month. The new episodes feature Anthony "Sully" Sullivan as he "tries to pick up the pieces and continue making inventors' dreams come true after the sudden death of his longtime friend and pitch-partner Billy Mays."
Also on tap in August: "Surviving the Cut," a new series which "follows the best of the best the U.S. military has to offer as they fight for special operations' most elite status." The six-episode project, from 2 Roosters Media ("Two Weeks in Hell"), launches Wednesday, August 18 at 10:00/9:00c.
