LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Amongst the sea of press releases from today's kick off of the cable portion of the TCA Summer Press Tour, we've also managed to confirm the following developments:
-- Discovery will roll out new seasons of "Dirty Jobs," "Ghost Lab," "Mythbusters" and "Storm Chasers" in October.
-- Also due this fall on Discovery is "Bidder Rivals," a new reality series about Paul Brown, owner of Atlanta's Gallery 63, one of the country's most storied auction houses.
-- IFC will debut "360 Sessions," a new half-hour series profiling musicians in their own words, on Tuesday, September 7 at 9:00/8:00c. David Gray, Stereophonics, La Roux, The Editors and Snoop Dogg are among the participating artists, who will also perform in studio.
-- Charlie Brooker's zombie-horror-comedy "Dead Set" will roll out as a five-night event from October 25-29 on IFC. Said project, which will air at midnight/11:00c each night, tracks the insulated members of the U.K. "Big Brother" house after zombies emerge and begin attacking humans.
-- Coming off the heels of its off-network run of "Freaks & Geeks," fellow Judd Apatow entry "Undeclared" makes its IFC debut on Friday, November 5.
-- Investigation Discovery and reality guru Mark Burnett are developing "Talent Behind Bars," a singing competition for America's incarcerated citizens. And keeping with the prison genre, the network is also working on - with an unspecified producer - "Dancing Behind Bars."
-- MTV has confirmed the mostly newcomer cast of its "Skins" import, due in 2011: James Newman as Tony, Rachel Thevenard as Michelle, Daniel Flaherty as Stanley, Ron Mustafaa as Abbud, Sofia Black D'Elia as Tea, Camille Cresencia-Mills as Daisy, Jesse Carere as Chris, Britne Oldford as Cadie and Eleanor Zich as Eura. In addition, "Teen Wolf" - originally targeted for a fall premiere - has been pushed to 2011.
-- Season two of Planet Green's "Operation Wild" will launch Friday, November 5 at 9:00/8:00c. And in the first quarter of 2011, look for "Dresscue Me" (formerly "Shareen Vintage"), in which designer Shareen Mitchell gives green-friendly makeovers using vintage clothing.
-- Science Channel's "Sci Fi Science: Physics of the Impossible" returns in September, followed by "How It's Made," "Mantracker" and "Meteorite Men" in October; and the network's annual "Punkin Chunkin" special returns Thanksgiving Day.
-- TLC will bow season two of "Four Weddings" on Friday, September 10 at 10:00/9:00c.
-- Also due in September on TLC: "Freaky Eaters" (Sunday, September 5 at 10:00/9:00c), in which experts help people with bizarre eating compulsions; "Quints by Surprise" (formerly "Quintuplet Surprise"; Monday, September 6 at 10:00/9:00c), about Casey and Ethan Jones, parents who tried for a second child and were - wait for it - surprised by quintuplets; and "Sextuplets Take NY" (formerly "The Carpio Family Project"; Tuesday, September 14 at 10:00/9:00c), about America's first Latino sextuplets.
-- TLC's much-ballyhooed "Sarah Palin's Alaska," featuring the former governor and her kin, will launch Sunday, November 14 at 9:00/8:00c. Among the eight installments: a camping trip alongside Kate Gosselin and her kids.
-- TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland" returns for its second season in January, to be joined by fellow multi-camera entry "Retired at 35."
