KEYS TO THE CITY/THE THREE WEISSMANNS OF WESTPORT (HBO, New!) - John Lesher, the former president of Paramount Film Group, has booked a pair of projects at the pay channel. First up is "Keys to the City," from Oscar-winner William Monahan ("The Departed"), which "centers on a New York locksmith and offers a view of people and sights glimpsed beyond the doors he unlocks." Said hour is based on Joel Kostman's book of the same name, "a collection of 14 stories based on the author's experience as a professional locksmith in New York City." Then there's "The Three Weissmanns of Westport," from Jenny Lumet ("Rachel Getting Married"), about a woman, fresh from her husband of 48 years walking out on her, who "reconnects with her grown daughters who are also dealing with professional and familial irrelevance." The project is likewise based on a novel, in this case Cathleen Schine's tome of the same name. Lesher will executive produce both projects with Monahan and Lesher doing the same for the former and Lumet and Adam Kassan on the latter (with Schine and Janet Meyers as co-producers).
THE LOST VALENTINE (CBS, New!) - Jennifer Love Hewitt ("Ghost Whisperer") is back in business with CBS as she's set to star and executive produce a new "Hallmark Hall of Fame" telefilm based on James Michael Pratt's novel of the same name about "a journalist (Hewitt) working on a profile of a woman whose husband was declared MIA during WWII." Betty White is set to co-star as said woman with Darnell Martin ("Their Eyes Were Watching God") directing from a script by Ernest Thompson and Jenny Wingfield. Production is set to begin in Atlanta this fall with Brent Shields serving as executive producer and Andy Gottlieb and Barbara Gangi producing.
WILFRED (FX) - Andrea Savage ("Dinner for Schmucks") has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about a guy (Elijah Wood) who lives next door to a woman (Fiona Gubelmann) and her talking, boozy dog (Jason Gann). No details were given about Savage's character. Randall Einhorn is helming the half-hour, which comes from David Zuckerman, FX Productions, Prospect Park and Renegade Pictures.
