LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

COUGAR TOWN (ABC, New!) - "Scrubs" alum Ken Jenkins is set to visit the show's sophomore season. He'll play the father of Courteney Cox's character however no details were given.
I, PI (ABC, New!) - Writer Paul Scheuring ("Prison Break") and director McG ("Chuck") are set to team for a potential new drama at the Alphabet about "an investigator who learned everything he ever needed to know about being a P.I. from watching shows like "Magnum, P.I." and "Simon and Simon" while growing up." McG is hoping to helm the Warner Bros. Television-based hour from a script by Scheuring and executive produce alongside and his Wonderland Sound and Vision partner Peter Johnson. Said project has a hefty script commitment from the network.
TREADSTONE (CBS, New!)/UNTITLED JOHN GLENN PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Feature writer John Glenn ("Journey to the Center of the Earth") is developing a pair of dramas: at FOX, he's penning an hour about vigilantes in New York City; and over at the Eye, he's working on a drama about spies who work for Treadstone, the secretive corporation featured in Robert Ludlum's novels. Anthony Zuiker and his Dare to Pass banner are attached to executive produce the latter, which is set up at CBS Television Studios. 20th Century Fox Television and the studio-based Chernin Entertainment then are also behind the former. Both have script commitments from the respective networks.
THE TRUE ADVENTURES OF A TERRIBLE DATER (CBS, New!) - Susan Brightbill is bringing her upcoming book of the same name to the small screen. Said half-hour, like the novel, centers on "a single woman - who works as an architect in Chicago - and her friends as she navigates the world of dating." Warner Bros. Television is behind the project, with Sheldon Turner and Jennifer Klein executive producing alongside Brightbill.
