NBA TV to Present Washington Wizards "Midnight Tip-off" Practice and "Real Training Camp: Los Angeles Lakers"
Network to be Onsite for First NBA Midnight Practice and Two-Time Defending NBA Champion Los Angles Lakers Opening Day
As part of NBA TV's comprehensive coverage of NBA preseason training camp tip-off on Monday, Sept. 27, the league's 24-hour network, will feature live coverage of the Washington Wizards' groundbreaking "Midnight Tip-off" practice event, along with capturing the first practice of the season for the two-time defending NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers with a special presentation of Real Training Camp: Los Angeles Lakers.
Washington Wizards' "Midnight Tip-off"
NBA TV will be onsite with NBA Insider David Aldridge and former NBA scout Ronny Thompson to capture the first NBA team in history to hold a scheduled Midnight practice to launch their season on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 12:00 a.m. (ET) from the Patriot Center on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. The open practice will feature player introductions, interviews with many Wizards' players, and an opportunity for fans to watch No. 1 overall pick John Wall in his first NBA practice as the Wizards scrimmage against each other.
Real Training Camp: Los Angeles Lakers
On Monday, Sept. 27 at 5:00 p.m. (ET), NBA TV will provide fans with a first look at Kobe Bryant and the Lakers as they begin their quest for a third consecutive NBA title. Hosted by Marc Fein, Real Training Camp: Los Angeles Lakers marks the eighth consecutive year of the preseason reality show, and will include two hours of coverage of the Lakers' practice, along with interviews from players and staff. Real Training Camp will continue throughout the preseason with the NBA TV visiting additional teams.
NBA TV GameTime: Media Day
The network will go around the league when it airs GameTime: Media Day at 8:00 p.m. ET. The one-hour show will follow host Matt Winer, and analysts Chris Webber and Craig Sager as they navigate through media day happenings from around the NBA with look-ins and onsite team interviews provided by Steve Smith (Miami Heat), Brent Barry (Dallas Mavericks) and Dennis Scott (Atlanta Hawks), along with NBA.com writers Steve Aschburner (Chicago Bulls) and Art Garcia (Oklahoma City Thunder).
NBA TV will also provide a unique perspective of the Phoenix Suns' media day from current Suns player and special correspondent Jared Dudley during the team's first practice.
NBA TV will tip off the 2010-11 season with four consecutive nights of exciting match-ups, beginning Saturday, Oct. 30, with All-Stars Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups leading the Denver Nuggets against the Houston Rockets (8:30 p.m. ET). The network's coverage will continue on Sunday, Oct. 31, with the Utah Jazz visiting NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder (7 p.m. ET). On Monday, Nov. 1, Derrick Rose, offseason addition Carlos Boozer and the Chicago Bulls host Brandon Roy and the Portland Trail Blazers (8 p.m. ET). NBA TV's Fan Night voting will begin on Oct. 26, allowing fans to select the first Fan Night match-up of the season which will air on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
