SYFY NAMES JAMES SPENCE AS NEW VICE PRESIDENT, CREATIVE DIRECTOR
NEW YORK - October 13, 2010 - Syfy has named award-winning advertising creative James Spence, most recently BBC Group Creative Director at Red Bee Media, to the position of Vice President, Creative Director, effective immediately.
Based in the New York office, Spence will report to Michael Engleman, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Global Brand Strategy and Creative, Syfy.
In his new role, Spence will oversee creative development of all on and off air promotions for the channel.

Spence joined Syfy from the Red Bee Media, where he had served as Group Creative Director since 2007. In this position, Spence developed multi-platform branding campaigns for all of the major BBC Channels.
Prior to that, Spence was a commercials director in Toronto, Canada, from 2004-2007, where three of his films were selected for the 2006 Cannes New Directors Showcase.
Before becoming a commercials director Spence worked in a number of advertising agencies including stints as Head of Art at HHCL and Partners in London and CD at TBWA Canada.
During his career, he has been honored with creative awards at Cannes, One Show, D&AD, Promax (UK & Europe), Creative Circle, BTAA and BTCA.
