NEWLY-ENGAGED COUPLES ARE FORCED TO "MEET THE IN-LAWS" IN A NEW TEN EPISODE SERIES ON CMT PREMIERING IN JANUARY
Host Pauly Shore Provides Running Commentary as Couples Move In With Their Future In-Laws
NASHVILLE - October 25, 2010 - They've vowed to stay together for better or for worse, but these couples will soon find out if they can stomach "forever" with their future in-laws, in the new CMT series, MEET THE IN-LAWS, premiering in January 2011. Hosted by the ultimate "Son In Law" Pauly Shore, this ten episode series follows newly engaged couples who have agreed to learn more about their fiance's family by each spending a week alone with their future in-laws.
"MEET THE IN-LAWS puts a fun new twist on living under one roof with your fiance's parents - illustrating the unlikely, revealing and sometimes embarrassing situations that result," said Claire McCabe, vice president, original programming and development, CMT. "Host Pauly Shore will bring just the right amount of wit and heart with his play-by-play commentary, adding another dimension to this fun family show."
In each one-hour episode of MEET THE IN-LAWS, two lovebirds from differing backgrounds agree to move in to the home of their fiance's parents. Once there, they are grilled about everything from their religious beliefs to their future career plans, as the in-laws try to get to know them better and decide if they are right for their son or daughter. While in their home, the son or daughter-in-law live by the house rules and participate in family activities and meals in an attempt to acclimate to their new family dynamic. At the end of the week, the couples are reunited and share their stories. Host Shore adds his comedic flare to the series by delivering his commentary throughout each episode.
MEET THE IN-LAWS is produced by ITV Studios with executive producers Mitchell Rosenbaum and Patrice Andrews. Bob Kusbit and Claire McCabe serve as executive producers for CMT.
