NICKELODEON'S BIG TIME RUSH RINGS IN THE HOLIDAYS WITH SPECIAL GUESTS MIRANDA COSGROVE AND SNOOP DOGG IN A SPECIAL TELEVISION EVENT, "BIG TIME CHRISTMAS," SATURDAY, DEC. 4, AT 8:00 P.M. (ET/PT)
One-Hour Movie Features Three Big Time Rush Musical Performances,
Including Exclusive Duet with Cosgrove and Two Original Holiday Songs
NEW YORK, NY - November 22, 2010 - Kendall, James, Carlos and Logan are spreading holiday cheer with a new TV movie, "Big Time Christmas," premiering Saturday, Dec. 4, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. The hour-long special features three musical performances by Big Time Rush: an exclusive duet with Miranda Cosgrove of the contemporary classic "All I Want for Christmas is You;" an animated music video with Snoop Dogg featuring an original song "Let's Stay In Our PJs (All Christmas Long); and an all-new holiday song "Beautiful Christmas."
In "Big Time Christmas," the guys are excited to head back to Minnesota for the holidays, but hours before their flight, Griffin tells them they have to stay in Los Angeles to record a three-song holiday EP -- and two of the songs have to be with celebrities. Racing against time, they help Gustavo write the first song, "Beautiful Christmas." After watching a commercial for Miranda Cosgrove's holiday TV special, the boys and Gustavo decide to sneak into Miranda's taping and convince her to duet with them on the Mariah Carey holiday classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You." After leaving the studio, Gustavo gets hit by Snoop Dogg's limo while crossing the street. Snoop feels so badly about the accident that he offers to record the third song with the boys - a new Yardsquirrels (a novelty band that Gustavo had a hit with in the '90s) song, "Let's Stay In Our PJs (All Christmas Long)." This episode also features a guest appearance by Fabio as himself.
Big Time Rush recorded a solo version of "All I Want for Christmas is You" that will be available exclusively on iTunes, Tuesday, Nov. 30, along with "Beautiful Christmas." BTR, the debut album from Big Time Rush, recently entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #3 and has sold more than 141,000 units in five weeks. The group also has now sold over one million combined digital tracks to date. BTR consists of original songs from the hit Nickelodeon series Big Time Rush, including the current hit "Til I Forget About You." For their debut album, Big Time Rush teamed up with some of the top producers and writers today, such as Kevin Rudolf (Leona Lewis, Lil Wayne), Claude Kelly (Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears), S*A*M and Sluggo (Boys Like Girls, We The Kings, Gym Class Heroes) and OFM (Jay Sean).
Big Time Rush, produced in partnership with Sony Music, had the highest-rated and most-watched live-action series premiere with kids, tweens and total viewers (6.8 million) in the history of Nickelodeon. Created by Scott Fellows (Ned's DeClassified School Survival Guide), Big Time Rush, follows four best friends from Minnesota - Kendall, James, Carlos and Logan - as they trade in their hockey sticks and parkas for a chance at music superstardom in Los Angeles. With a few misadventures along the way, the boys quickly find out that life in Hollywood is not all about hanging at the pool and attending parties. After proving to themselves and their record label that they are serious about their musical career, Big Time Rush are now ready for the next phase of their personal and professional lives. Between juggling the demands of their newfound fame, romantic relationships, finding their own personal musical style and homework the group learns that success comes with hard work and dedication - and the support of one another.
