"JUMP CITY: SEATTLE" LEAPS INTO LIVING ROOMS WHEN PARKOUR SPORT COMPETITION SERIES PREMIERES TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 15 ON G4

New One-Hour Weekly Series From "American Idol" Producers Seeks To Find America's Definitive Parkour Championship Team

Los Angeles, CA, January 20, 2010 - JUMP CITY: SEATTLE, the first-ever Parkour championship competition series that seeks to find America's definitive Parkour championship team premieres Tuesday, February 15th at 8 p.m. ET/PT on G4.

Hosted by G4's Blair Herter and Parkour veteran Brady Romberg, JUMP CITY: SEATTLE will feature established Parkour athletes -- such as Levi Meeuwenberg and Brian Orosco (from G4's American Ninja Warrior), who will use their dexterity, speed, skill and every manner of mobility possible to navigate Seattle's urban landscape. The four teams comprising the series -- Miami Freerunning, The Tribe, Tempest Freerunning and Team Rogue -- will run, climb, vault, balance, leap, ground roll and precision jump their way through the competition.

"Parkour has become the latest in the ever growing trend of alternative sports, bringing legions of fans to this discipline," said Neal Tiles, President, G4. "G4's history of success with extreme sport shows such as 'Ninja Warrior' and 'Unbeatable Banzuke,' makes 'Jump City' the next evolution of this increasing phenomenon."

Each episode features two teams competing in a speed and a style round, with three of the four members of each team participating. The speed round is set up as a relay through a predetermined course, and the team with the fastest time prevails. In the style round, each team member is given 45 seconds to perform a routine anywhere on the course and is judged on their creativity, difficulty and execution. The team with the highest combined score wins the round. Over the course of the season, all teams will compete against the other once in regular competition. The team with the most wins will move on to the finals, and the team with the least wins goes home. The other two teams compete in the semi finals with the winner going to the finals.

An exciting international discipline, sport and hobby, Parkour has captured the attention of young men throughout the world. Defined as 'getting somewhere quickly and efficiently using the human body,' it requires speed, strength, balance, endurance, agility, accuracy, coordination and timing. Its aim is to move from one point to another as smoothly and quickly as possible. It is designed to overcome obstacles in the surrounding environment, and is largely practiced in urban areas because of the many suitable structures such as walls, buildings and rails that challenge the athletes on their prescribed route.

JUMP CITY: SEATTLE is produced by FremantleMedia North America in association with Motion, Inc. George Moll is executive producer. Laura Civiello and Darren Wadyko will serve as the series' network executives for G4.
