By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

GEORGETOWN (ABC) - Kevin Zegers, Wendy Crewson and Tiya Sircar have all booked roles on the drama pilot, about a quartet of young staffers in Washington, D.C. - Sam (Daisy Betts), Nikki (Katie Cassidy), Peter (Joseph Mazzello) and Andrew (Jimmy Wolk) - who share a DuPont Circle townhouse together. He'll play Montgomery "Monty" Knox, "a handsome, incredibly wealthy young stockbroker" who went to college with Andrew and Sam. Crewson then is set as the GOP minority leader, Senator Caroline Wallace ("pretty, much more shrewd than her 'regular southern gal' affect would lead you to believe"); with Sircar as Harper Hawley ("a cute EMO girl"), Andrew's longtime assistant who Peter has a crush on. Will Fetters penned the Warner Bros. Television-based hour, to be helmed by Mark Piznarski. Condola Rashad also stars.

HART OF DIXIE (The CW) - Scott Porter ("The Good Wife") has been cast in the drama pilot, about Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson), a young big-city doctor who inherits a medical practice in the oddball town of BlueBell, Alabama. He'll play George Tucker, a handsome, charming attorney who's engaged to the overly effusive Lemon Breeland (Jaime King). Cress Williams, Nancy Travis and Wilson Bethel also star in the Warner Bros. Television-based hour, from writer Leila Gerstein and director Jason Ensler.

HEAVENLY (The CW) - Lauren Cohan ("The Vampire Diaries") has nabbed the female lead on the drama pilot, about Lily DeMarco (Ben Aldridge), a San Francisco attorney who teams with Dashiell Coffee, an angel-turned-human, to save the futures - and the souls - of their clients. She'll play Lily ("deceptively young and friendly"), who looks like someone's kid sister who suddenly got gorgeous over the summer - a fact she uses to her advantage as a lawyer. Also signing on are Elizabeth Ho ("Melissa & Joey") and departing "90210" cast member Ryan Eggold. Ho is set as Sasha Nouri ("darkly pretty with a wicked smile"), a Deputy District Attorney, with Eggold as Owen Moretti ("looks more like a construction worker than a pastor"), a man of the cloth who befriends Dashiell. Richard Hatem penned the CBS Television Studios-based hour, to be helmed by Mimi Leder.

LITTLE IN COMMON (FOX) - Alanna Ubach ("Hung") has booked the final principal role on the comedy pilot, about three families united through their kids' little league sports: the Wellers (Rob Corddry, Paula Marshall), the Burlesons (Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union) and the Pachecos (Lombardo Boyar, Ubach). She'll play Maya Pacheco, the "super-friendly behind-the-scenes brains" of the family's pizzeria who "like her husband is a practitioner of a laissez faire brand of parenting." Curtis Harris and Izabela Vidovic also star in the half-hour, from Warner Bros. Television, writer Rob Thomas and director Adam Bernstein.

THE REMEMBERER (CBS) - Dylan Walsh ("Nip/Tuck") has snagged the male lead on the drama pilot, about Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery), an ex-cop struggling with the blessing/curse of hyperthymesia - the ability to remember everything - who is drafted back into the NYPD. He's set as her new boss, Detective First Class Al Burns, a former high school jock who's always going forward and believes life is to be lived, not dwelled upon. Daya Vaidaya, Kevin Rankin and Michael Gaston also star in the hour, to be directed by Niels Arden Oplev from a script by co-creators Ed Redlich and John Bellucci. CBS Television Studios and Sony Pictures Television are co-producing.

SUBURGATORY (ABC) - Former "Saturday Night Live" player Ana Gasteyer has scored a role on the comedy pilot, about Tessa (Jane Levy), "a teenage girl who moves with her dad George (Jeremy Sisto) from Manhattan, where she grew up, to her version of hell: the suburbs." She'll potentially recur as Sheila Shay, their new neighbor, an enthusiastic stay-at-home mom whose daughter Lisa (Allie Grant), Tessa befriends. Alan Tudyk, Carly Chaikin and Cheryl Hines also star in the Warner Bros. Television-based half-hour, from writer Emily Kapnek and director Michael Fresco.

TWO BROKE GIRLS (CBS) - Matthew Moy, Garret Morris and Jonathan Kite are the latest additions to the comedy pilot, about two struggling waitresses at a Brooklyn diner - Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs) - who aspire to open their own cupcake shop. The latter will play Oleg ("balding, unsightly"), the diner's cook; with Moy as its owner, Han Lee ("Korean born, lovable, thin man; thick accent"); and Morris as Earl ("black, wise, cool"), the cashier. James Burrows is directing the Warner Bros. Television-based half-hour from a script by Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings.

VINCE UNCENSORED (CBS) - Kelsey Grammer ("Frasier") has signed on to direct the Michael Chiklis-led comedy pilot, about Vince Donohue, a family man who experiences a medical problem and starts to speak the truth and live in the moment, much to the chagrin to his family. Phoef Sutton is behind the half-hour, from Warner Bros. Television and Conan O'Brien's Conaco banner.
