LOS ANGELES, April 20, 2011 - FX has set its summer schedule with the return of two critically acclaimed original series and the premiere of a new original comedy. Wilfred, FX's newest original comedy, and the second season of Louie will premiere on Thursday, June 23 at 10:00 PM ET/PT and 10:30 PM ET/PT, respectively. Rescue Me returns for its final season on Tuesday, July 12 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.

Debuting on Thursday, June 23 at 10 PM, Wilfred, starring Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Jason Gann, is a live-action comedy series based on the critically acclaimed Australian series of the same title. Wilfred was adapted for FX by David Zuckerman (Family Guy, American Dad), who wrote the pilot and serves as Executive Producer/Showrunner. Elijah Wood stars as "Ryan," an introvert struggling to make his way in the world until he meets "Wilfred" (played by Gann, co-creator of the Australian series), his neighbor's canine pet. While the world sees Wilfred as a dog, Ryan sees Wilfred as a man dressed in a dog suit. Co-stars include Fiona Gubelmann as "Jenna," Ryan's attractive neighbor and Wilfred's owner and Dorian Brown as "Kristen," Ryan's uptight sister. Wilfred marks Wood's first starring role in regular series television. Executive Producers are Rich Frank, Paul Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz of Prospect Park, along with Joe Connor and Ken Connor of Renegade, producers of the Australian version of Wilfred. Gann serves as Co-Executive Producer. The series is produced by FX Productions. FX will air 13 episodes of Wilfred.

FX's critically acclaimed comedy series Louie, starring Louis C.K., returns for its second season Thursdays at 10:30 PM beginning June 23. Louie is a comedy filtered through the observational humor of Louis C.K. The single-camera comedy is a mix of Louis C.K.'s stand-up comedy and scripted stories. Louis C.K. serves as Executive Producer, writer and director, and Dave Becky and 3 Arts Entertainment are Executive Producers. FX will air 13 episodes of the series which is produced by FX Productions. The complete first season of Louie will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on June 21.

Rescue Me, the hit series from Denis Leary and Peter Tolan, will return for its seventh and final season on July 12. The final season will deal with Tommy Gavin's (Denis Leary) recognition of how deeply he is in need of rescue and how time is running out on his last chances for redemption. Rescue Me stars Denis Leary, Adam Ferrara, Michael Lombardi, Steven Pasquale, Andrea Roth, John Scurti, Daniel Sunjata, Callie Thorne and Larenz Tate. The series was created by Leary and Peter Tolan, who along with Jim Serpico, serve as Executive Producers. The show is produced by Apostle, The Cloudland Company and DreamWorks Television in association with Sony Pictures Television. FX will air 9 episodes of Rescue Me.
