Spike Ships "Coal" to Sundays; TLC Revives "Fabulous Cakes," "Four Weddings"
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- A recap of the most recent developments in the world of basic cable:

-- Spike TV has pulled newcomer "Coal" from its Wednesday lineup and plans to relaunch the series on Sunday, May 8 at 8:00/7:00c. A series low 680,000 viewers tuned into its most recent episode (April 20), barely half its "Ultimate Fighter" lead-in (1.296 million). "Coal" launched on March 30 to 1.234 million viewers.

-- TLC has booked return dates for "Fabulous Cakes" (Monday, May 9 at 9:00/8:00c) and "Four Weddings" (Friday, May 6 at 10:00/9:00c). The news marks the third home this season for the former series, which was pulled from Tuesday nights back in February. "Weddings" likewise has been absent from the network's lineup since February. And in other TLC news, newcomer "What the Sell?!" will move to the earlier time of 7:00/6:00c on Tuesday nights effective immediately.

-- Discovery's long-delayed "Wild Animal Repo" is finally set to roll out on Sunday, May 15 at 8:00/7:00c with back-to-back hour-long episodes. The series, featuring exotic animal repossessor Scott Lope, was originally set to debut on January 16 but was pulled at the last minute.

-- "Pretty Hurts," Logo's new reality series about Rand Rusher's Beverly Hills skin care clinic, has been rescheduled for Saturday nights at 8:00/7:00c beginning May 7. The cable channel previously planned to launch the half-hour series on Monday, May 9 following fellow freshman "Setup Squad."

-- Travel Channel has benched its new Thursday series "Triple Rush" after two airings. It's the second quick hook by the network in as many months, the other being "Deathwish Movers" in March. Hoping to buck the trend is "Off Limits," in which explorer and history buff Don Wildman delves into the forbidden, hidden and unseen spaces across America. The newcomer launches Monday, May 16 at 9:00/8:00c.

-- And finally, new episodes of truTV's "Bait Car" are set for Monday nights at 8:00/7:00c beginning May 30 while "It Only Hurts When I Laugh!" returns Thursday, May 5 at 10:00/9:00c.
