GOSSIP GIRL (The CW) - Co-stars Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr reportedly won't return for the show's fifth season, while Kaylee DeFer has been upped to series regular. Momsen has been absent for the bulk of the current season while Szohr's role has slowly been diminishing. Despite the loss of their full-time status, both actresses will be invited back as guest stars. As for DeFer, the actress will continue on as Charlie Rhodes, Serena's (Blake Lively) recently introduced cousin.
HOUSE (FOX) - Robert Sean Leonard and Omar Epps have closed deals to return for an eighth - and potentially final - season of the veteran drama. Leonard made headlines last month indicating the show's current season would be his last. The actor, along with Epps, Olivia Wilde with Hugh Laurie, nevertheless are on board for the new season, a pickup of which is expected shortly. Lisa Edelstein and creator David Shore are likewise expected to return while the contract status of Jesse Spencer and Peter Jacobson wasn't specified. It's understood Universal Media Studios, to meet a reduced license fee from FOX, asked the show's various supporting players to take a salary cut and roll back their episode guarantees to 18 each.
