CBS Adds Quartet, The CW Wants "H8R" for 2011-12 Season
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- CBS continued its 2011-12 season pickups this morning, ordering dramas "The 2-2" (formerly "Rookies"), "Unforgettable" (formerly "The Rememberer") and comedy "How to Be a Gentleman" to series.

[UPDATED 1:45 PM!] Also on tap: the Susannah Grant-penned drama "A Gifted Man."

The quartet will join previously announced newcomers "Person of Interest" and "Two Broke Girls."

"The 2-2" is an ensemble drama about six NYPD rookies learning the beat on the streets of Manhattan. Adam Goldberg, Harold House Moore, Judy Marte, Leelee Sobieski, Stark Sands, Terry Kinney and Tom Reed star in the hour, from writer Richard Price and director James Mangold. CBS Television Studios and Robert De Niro's Tribeca Films are producing.

"Unforgettable" stars Poppy Montgomery as an ex-cop struggling with the blessing/curse of hyperthymesia - the ability to remember everything - who is drafted back into the NYPD. Daya Vaidaya, Dylan Walsh, Kevin Rankin and Michael Gaston also star in the project, from director Niels Arden Oplev and co-creators Ed Redlich and John Bellucci. CBS Television Studios, Sony Pictures Television and Timberman-Beverly Productions are co-producing.

David Hornsby wrote and stars in "Gentleman," about an uptight magazine writer (Hornsby) who learns the lessons of life with the help of his old high school classmate (Kevin Dillon). Dave Foley, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Nancy Lenehan and Rhys Darby co-star in the half-hour, from CBS Television Studios and Media Rights Capital.

"Gifted Man" follows an ultra-competitive surgeon (Patrick Wilson) whose life is changed forever when his ex-wife (Jennifer Ehle) dies and begins teaching him what life is all about from the hereafter. Said hour, from CBS Television Studios and Timberman-Beverly Productions, also stars Afton Williamson, Julie Benz and Margo Martindale. Jonathan Demme directed the pilot and executive produces alongside showrunner Neal Baer.

Meanwhile, The CW is reportedly on track for a series commitment to "H8R," a reality series in which much-maligned celebrities - such as Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Kim Kardashian in the pilot - meet their biggest "haters." Mario Lopez hosts and executive produces the Warner Horizon Television-based effort alongside Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey and co-executive producer Jeremy Spiegel.
