A Travel Show That's On The Map, But Off The Beaten Path
YOUNG, BROKE & BEAUTIFUL
IFC Original Series Premieres
Friday, June 24 at 11:00PM ET/PT
YOUNG, BROKE & BEAUTIFUL (www.ifc.com/young-broke-beautiful) follows acclaimed travel writer/blogger Stuart Schuffman, aka "Broke-Ass Stuart," as he travels the country infiltrating the underground, less traveled locales of some of America's most visited cities. His mission is to uncover the hidden, cheap and carefully guarded gems that might be overlooked in mainstream travel guides. Being a "broke ass" is a state of mind where life is not about what you own, but the stuff you do.
YOUNG, BROKE & BEAUTIFULtakes viewers on a tour of some of the best, less traveled and intriguing places in six of America's favorite cities. Stuart will get fitted for fangs in New Orleans, gets hypnotized at an underground warehouse party in Baltimore, takes in the offbeat circus in San Diego, pitch in at the Sam Adams brewery in Boston, go-kart ride at an abandoned velodrome in Detroit, and dance the night away at a disco party in Memphis. This is a travel show for explorers and wanderers with a desire to celebrate everything different and unique.
Hailed by Time Out New York as "the chief of cheap," Broke-Ass Stuart's philosophy is to write for busboys, poets, social workers, students, artists, musicians, magicians, mathematicians, maniacs, yodelers and everyone else out there who wants to enjoy life not as a rich person, but as a real person. He has written broke-ass travel guides for both San Francisco and New York City and is currently working on Broke-Ass Stuart's Guide to Living Cheaply which gives even more survival techniques and travel tricks to those intrepid explorers on a budget.
YOUNG, BROKE & BEAUTIFULis executive produced by Sam Erickson, Pouya Shahbazian, Melissa Hook and Alice Weinberg for 44 Pictures. Debbie DeMontreux, Christine Lubrano, Douglas Marshall and Jennifer Caserta serve as executive producers for IFC.
