Ovation Tops the Charts This July With "American Revolutionaries: The Hitmakers"
Three-week Programming Event Features US and World Premiere Documentaries on The Boss, The King, D.M.C., Madonna and Beyoncé
Santa Monica, CA - June 1, 2011 Musical risk takers, rule breakers and chart toppers are taking over the July schedule at Ovation, the only television network dedicated to arts culture. "American Revolutionaries: THE HITMAKERS" is Ovation's three-week programming event dedicated to some of pop music's most influential artists. Included are US and world premiere documentaries on Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Presley, D.M.C., Madonna and Beyoncé.
"The artists featured in 'THE HITMAKERS' have repeatedly turned popular music on its head, pushing the envelope on innovation, artistry and imagination," said Kris Slava, Ovation's SVP of Programming. "You think you know these stars because they are so popular, but this collection of documentaries shines the spotlight on aspects of their lives and careers that will surprise you."
"American Revolutionaries: THE HITMAKERS" will air from July 1 - 24 and will be hosted by ground-breaking visual artist, Justin BUA, who also created original artwork of five of the featured artists for Ovation's print, on-air and online ad campaign.
