MTV2'S "120 MINUTES WITH MATT PINFIELD" TO PREMIERE BEGINNING JULY 30TH
Monthly Series to Spotlight a Multitude of Established, Indie and Emerging Artists of Various Genres and Sounds via Exclusive Interviews and Music Videos
Debut Episode to Feature Interviews with Dave Grohl, Lupe Fiasco, PJ Harvey, Sleigh Bells, Das Racist, Dangermouse and More
NEW YORK, NY - (July 14, 2011) - MTV2's 120 Minutes with Matt Pinfield, the re-invention of MTV's prolific music series, is set to return to MTV2 as an on-air monthly series beginning Saturday, July 30th at 1 AM ET/ 10 PM PT. Matt Pinfield, 120 Minutes' most beloved and respected host, returns to provide music fans with an unfiltered look at today's hottest alternative and indie artists, as well as emerging artists spanning multiple genres including hip-hop and rock through exclusive interviews and music videos.
"I am ecstatic to part of the rebirth of this iconic and influential music series," said Matt Pinfield. "While the new show on MTV2 will feature the same dose of progressive music fans of the original 120 Minutes embraced and loved, we'll now be expanding outside the alternative music universe to feature a myriad of emerging artists and sounds from a variety of genres."
The debut episode of MTV2's 120 Minutes with Matt Pinfield will feature exclusive interviews with Dave Grohl, PJ Harvey, Kings of Leon, Dangermouse with Danielle Luppi, Das Racist, Sleigh Bells, Lupe Fiasco, Zach Braff, Black Angels, Fitz and the Tantrums and Theophilus London. Fans will also see the uncensored version of Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" music video, Mumford and Sons VH1 Unplugged performance of "Roll Your Stone," the music video for Cults' "Abducted" and more.
New episodes of MTV2's 120 Minutes with Matt Pinfield will air the last Saturday of every month at 1 AM ET/ 10pm PT and will be available online at 120.MTV2.com. In addition, music fans will be treated to a bi-weekly two-minute fix of Pinfield via 120 Seconds, the web companion series, exclusively on MTV's newly launched pure music website, MTV Hive, as well as great moments and performances from many classic 120 Minutes episodes. Since launching in March at SXSW, 120 Seconds has featured interviews with artists including The Decemberists, Waaves, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Kills, Richard Ashcroft and Ratatat.

About Matt Pinfield
Critically acclaimed music personality and host, Matt Pinfield, started his career working as an on-air talent and Music Director at WRSU-FM, the official radio station of Rutgers University. In a ten year stint that began in 1984 as a radio DJ on WHTG-FM 106.3, the Jersey shore alternative rock radio station, Matt received the Gavin Award in 1992 and 1993 for National Commercial Alternative Music Director of the Year. Pinfield then kicked off his television career hosting MTV's 120 Minutes in 1995, joined the MTV Music and Talent department and hosted a variety of MTV shows and over 100 MTV specials during his time at MTV. In 2001, Matt became Vice President of A & R and Artist Development for Columbia Records, signing and overseeing the making of albums by many gold and platinum acts. In 2005, Matt was asked by The Rolling Stones to host their international radio interview for Premiere networks that featured all four band members interviewed together for the first time in over 35 years. In 2006, Pinfield returned to Television as host of VH1's VSpot Top 20 Countdown, HDNet's Soundoff with Matt Pinfield as well as co-starring as himself on Nickelodeon's The Naked Brothers Band. Beginning in 2008, Pinfield took over as morning drive DJ on New York radio station WRXP 101.9 FM and was honored that same year at the Rock and Roll hall Of Fame in Cleveland where he spoke about his history and accomplishments in the music industry.
