BIDDERS AND SELLERS BOTH HOPE THEIR GAMBLES PAY OFF IN THE RETURN OF DISCOVERY'S "AUCTION KINGS"

Thomas Edison Performance Reviews, Replica of the DeLorean Time Machine and Elvis-Owned Cadillac Among the Unusual Items Auctioned off this Season

With their auction house overflowing with new treasures and new customers, Paul Brown and the Gallery 63 crew are back for an all-new season of AUCTION KINGS, kicking off on Tuesday, August 9th at 9PM ET/PT. They're hunting down and auctioning off historical treasures and off-the-wall finds, including a handwritten poem by Doors front man Jim Morrison, letters signed by Thomas Edison regarding his employees' work performances, a Cadillac once owned by Elvis Presley, an extremely rare Civil War telescope and even...dinosaur poo. The team digs into each item's history and determines its worth. But every auction is still a gamble. Sometimes the buyer gets a steal and sometimes, if a bidding war ensues, the seller can walk away with a hefty profit.

Owner Paul Brown grew up in Atlanta and worked for 20 years at Red Baron's, his dad's antique store and auction house. There he learned the art of selling and how to tell trash from treasure and has used that knowledge to open his own auction house. Today, Gallery 63 is known for bizarre, high-end items. Paul has made a name for himself as the go-to guy for people looking for those one-of-a-kind pieces that can only be found inside his doors. Paul's bidders and sellers come from all walks of life and are looking to make money, buy a unique piece or simply experience the thrill of an auction.

In the season premiere, Paul helps unload a pawnbroker's rare World War II Harley-Davidson motorcycle, sells a piece of baseball history for thousands (the seller paid one dollar for it!) and antes up with his mentor/dad Bob Brown in a bet that a beautiful, but deadly, gambler's watch will far exceed appraisal estimate.

AUCTION KINGS is produced for Discovery Channel by Authentic Entertainment, Inc., where Lauren Lexton, Tom Rogan and Jeffrey Weaver are executive producers. For Discovery Channel, Chaz Gray is executive producer.
