102 MINUTES to be Simulcast Commercial Free Across All A+E Networks, at History.com and on HISTORY Around the World

HISTORY Partners with the 9/11 Memorial and Museum

Los Angeles, CA, July 27, 2011 - As the world prepares to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, HISTORY will remember as well with a powerful and poignant lineup of 9/11 documentaries, a global simulcast and a partnership with the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Over the last ten years, HISTORY has made it its mission to never forget, and to honor those who perished, and those who lived, and those who work tirelessly every day to keep the flame of 9-11 alive. Our mission is to never lose site of the memory of that day and how it changed this nation forever. In addition to the compelling Emmy(R) Award winning 102 MINUTES THAT CHANGED AMERICA, HISTORY has amassed over 20 hours of programming relating to the day's events, exploring them from every angle.

"We at HISTORY pride ourselves on covering critical moments of American history. As the archivist and arbiter of all things history, we are continuing our coverage of one of the most significant moments in our lifetime," said Nancy Dubuc, President & General Manager, HISTORY. "It is and always has been our goal to see that this horrific day is never forgotten as we preserve its critically important legacy."

To kick off the truly worldwide commemoration, HISTORY will simulcast commercial-free 102 MINUTES THAT CHANGED THE AMERICA across all A+E Networks, on History.com and globally in more than 150 countries on HISTORY (and reaching 250 million households) on September 11th starting at 8:46AM ET

HISTORY will premiere 9/11: THE DAYS AFTER, commercial-free, on Saturday September 10, 9pmET/PT. Examining the legacy of that tragic day on which terrorist hijackers crashed planes into New York's Twin Towers, 9/11: THE DAYS AFTER is the follow-up film from the makers of 102 MINUTES THAT CHANGED AMERICA.

Telling the story exclusively through archival audiovisual materials collected from more than 50 sources, footage shot by professional news media and amateurs alike, 9/11: THE DAYS AFTER takes an authentic, unflinchingly honest look at what happened after the tragedy. It is a chronicle of life in a changed city, a changed country, a changed world.

9/11: THE DAYS AFTER examines the texture of life in the post-9/11 world, extending the story beyond the search for survivors, beyond the hunt for Osama bin Laden, beyond implementation of new airport and anti-terrorism security measures. It focuses on nuanced and oft-forgotten consequences: of a run on guns, bottled water, gas masks and cash; of Ground Zero becoming the biggest tourist destination in America; of Arab racial profiling and hate crimes; of false alarms across the country; of 9/11-related illnesses among residents and first responders. Vast changes were spawned by 9/11 ? politically, culturally, sociologically, psychologically ? yet so much about how we live our lives today remains the same. 9/11: THE DAYS AFTER addresses the impact in a way no one has before.

HISTORY also will present the riveting VOICES FROM INSIDE THE TOWERS on Friday, September 9, 9pm ET/PT, a film documenting many harrowing, heartbreaking stories - some never heard before - of love and loss on 9/11. There is no video record of what happened inside the World Trade Center buildings during the 102 chaotic minutes before the towers were reduced to rubble. But VOICES FROM INSIDE THE TOWERS uses audio records, such as recorded phone calls from people inside the buildings - some of whom perished and some who survived - as they contacted family members, friends, 911 dispatchers to provide a chillingly clear mental picture.

Finally, on Sunday, September 11, 8pm ET/PT, HISTORY will premiere MAKING THE 9/11 MEMORIAL. On the 10th anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks, the 9/11 Memorial (called "Reflecting Absence") will at last be unveiled to the public. In a one-hour documentary special filmed over the course of the past year, History presents a behind-the-scenes insider's view, from conception to on-site installation at Ground Zero. Key players share their creative journey, along with the staggering challenge of translating elegant ideas into reality, as they solve problems on the fly, invent ingenious techniques, and race against the clock, so that the Memorial, in all its simple grandeur, can open on 9/11/11.

In addition to the programming, HISTORY is engaging in an in depth educational and public affairs outreach campaign which will include.

A Partnership with the National September 11 Memorial & Museum to share content and provide information about their resources before and after the 9/11Memorial opens to the public on September 12, 2011 and the 9/11 Memorial Museum opens in 2012. HISTORY is producing short form video pieces that focus on some of the museum's artifacts and will be made available to the Museum for potential use in its exhibition and educational programming. History will also work with the 9/11 Memorial and our mutual partner Broadcastr to record, catalogue, and share spoken 9/11 stories.

On Saturday, September 10th, HISTORY will webcast the dedication of the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania live on History.com/Classroom.

HISTORY will provide teacher's guides and family viewing guides for on-air programming including Making the 9/11 Memorial, as well for 102 Minutes, The World Trade Center: Rise and Fall of an American Icon, and Relics from the Rubble which will air during our commercial-free Classroom programming hour in August and September. These educator's guides provide context and resources to help students learn about the events of 9/11.

Schools and communities worldwide will want to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, but many of them need guidance about how to observe the anniversary of these tragic events. HISTORY has developed How-To guides for schools and communities in the U.S. and worldwide, with suggestions for how to commemorate the anniversary and honor those who lost their lives. These guides will be distributed in print and online at History.com.

Partnerships with the September 11th Education Trust and the Tribute WTC Visitor Center will provide additional support and curriculum for teachers and general audiences. HISTORY has worked with both groups for several years to share their content and provide teachers and students with civic and history education resources for teaching 9/11.

HISTORY will also provide information to the public about how to save and preserve photos, artifacts, and cherished personal items from 9/11. One valued partner is The New York State Archives Partnership Trust which has developed useful preservation tips.
