Alexa 'The Glam Fairy' Prisco Takes Flight in Her Own 10 Episode One-Hour
Transformation Series from Endemol USA
Los Angeles, August 23, 2011 - Glamazons unite! Fresh off the dramatic third season of "Jerseylicious," the highest-rated series in the network's history, The Style Network premieres the spin-off "Glam Fairy," a new makeover series which takes viewers inside the glittery, high-energy world of makeup artist extraordinaire and "Glam Fairy" herself, Alexa Prisco. Since leaving the Gatsby Salon in season two and establishing 'The Glam Factory,' Alexa has built her own glamorous home base where she showcases her makeover magic and expands her already growing clientele. Each episode follows Alexa and her team of "fairies" as she takes on new clients and uses her signature New Jersey style to transform women with hot new looks for all kinds of special occasions. "Glam Fairy" premieres Sunday, October 23 at 8:00pm ET/PT on The Style Network.
As one of the top on-location airbrush makeup artists in New York and New Jersey, Alexa is dedicated to turning a client's makeover dream into a sensational reality. During each of the 10 one-hour episodes, Alexa and her team perform stunning before-meets-after transformations for brides, teens, moms and unattached ladies looking to go glam for any occasion. The series also documents all the behind-the-scenes drama as Alexa develops her ever-expanding business, attempts to maintain a personal life with a budding new romance, all while managing her team of "fairies" and their unique and challenging personalities. The quick-witted pint-size blonde has carefully staffed a group of fledgling fairies to act as her minions and help grow her "glampire." This army of fairies is equipped with enough hairspray, lip gloss and New Jersey wit to turn the Garden State into the Glam State and if their ferocious commander Alexa has anything to do with it, they will.
Meet The Fairies of "The Glam Factory":
Alexa- "The Glam Fairy"
Her lifelong dream is finally a reality - the Glam Factory is open for business and thriving. With her staff now in place, it's up to Alexa to keep the clients happy, and her employees in check.
Briella - "The Dramalicious Fairy"
Briella is a Hair Fairy at the Glam Factory. Even though she has mastered the art of hair, Briella yearns for a more balanced life and is always looking for the next "Zen" thing, whether it's a cool yoga class or a new healing movement. But at her core, Briella is a Jersey girl who attracts conflict like a magnet - and that drives Alexa and the other Glam Fairies crazy.
Jon - "The Right-Hand Fairy"
Jon and Alexa have been best friends for more than nine years, and Alexa recently hired him to be her "client liaison" at the Glam Factory. Being "besties" with Alexa can be a burden as Jon constantly must find a way to maintain the delicate balance between their friendship and work relationship. When Alexa has an emotional breakdown, Jon is the man who has to put the pieces back together. Jon's arch-enemy is The Glam Factory's newest fashion consultant, Glamo, who Jon perceives as competition for his position.
Alexa (aka: A2) - "The Glam Fairy in Training"
Alexa, dubbed "A2" so as not to be confused with Alexa Prisco, is obsessed with her boss. Even though she just graduated from high school and lives over 200 miles away, A2 still makes it to the Glam Factory each day to report for her glam duties as Alexa's assistant. Working for Alexa is high pressure, and although A2 has a lot to learn before she gets her wings, she is confident that she will be a flourishing fairy in no time.
Jessica - "The Ditzy Fairy"
She may seem sweet on the outside, but on the inside, Jessica is driven and wants nothing more than to be seen as the most important member of the team in Alexa's eyes. She'd be truly dangerous if she were just a few IQ points higher but give this girl the right eye shadow and she can change the world - or at least Northern New Jersey.
Sharie - "The Sexy, Confident Fairy"
A mother of two with a husband ten years her junior, Sharie hates that the young hairstylists today only know how to do one skill well. Sharie is an expert in color, cuts, treatments, extensions and blow outs. Self-assured and wise, Sharie and the young staff at The Glam Fairy don't always see wing tipped eye-to-wing tipped eye.
Glamo - "The Resident Stylist"
A fashion image consultant with his own business, he has legally changed his name to Glamo - enough said. When Glamo isn't styling his personal clients, he is a runway coach for a modeling agency, where he teaches some of the world's top models how to strut their stuff in fashion week. Extremely opinionated, Glamo feels that his skills perfectly complement Alexa's talents and believes that he is a great asset to the team - but makes it perfectly clear he's the boss of himself and not one of Alexa's fairies.
In the premiere episode, Alexa is excited about her newest clients -- women from a local Mommy and Me group - who hope to regain some of the style they had in their pre-motherhood years for a rare group date night with their husbands. Who says you can't be a mom and still feel like a glamour goddess? With the help of Briella, Jessica and Sharie, Alexa brings out the inner and outer youth of these already beautiful women. However, the team runs into trouble when they attempt to translate Alexa's grandiose ideas into a practical reality. The Glam Factory also welcomes its newest member, Glamo, into the family; however, Jon is having a difficult time adjusting to what he calls Glamo's "diva" behavior.
Season one continues with Alexa performing life-altering makeovers on a wide array of clients who are faced with important events in their lives and call on Alexa and her team to save them from styling disasters. These challenges include: a Latina Christian Pop group's more mainstream stage look, a classy image for a beauty school drop-out and bride-to-be, a brand new look for a fitness instructor's new workout video, a more cohesive and polished look for drag show performers for an important audition and plus size models who need to look glamorous for an upcoming ad campaign for a local boutique.
In addition, Alexa's personal life continues to be a whirlwind of unforeseen ups and downs, including adjusting to her new live-in boyfriend. But will their style differences threaten to tear them apart? For the fairies and fairy-hopefuls who face personal and professional struggles, they know that under Alexa's rule, no matter what the personal drama is - never bring it into the workplace if you want to keep your wings. The only problem is, at The Glam Factory, most of the drama starts when the work day begins.
"Glam Fairy" is produced by Endemol USA for The Style Network. Three-time Emmy(R) winner Alex Duda is the Executive Producer, joined by Style Executive Producers Sarah Weidman and Merah Chung.
